This absolutely wonderful pair of Victorian opera glasses are marked Lemaire Fabt, Paris. They were made in Paris, and date back to about 1880-90. They measure 4” wide and 3” tall when fully extended and were part of the extravagant Paris opera scene during the Victorian period. What a joy to be able to take them to the opera today. Measuring 2.75 inches in diameter by 3 inches high, this darling, circa 1890's, English, porcelain, double quill holder features a startled mother dove attempting to fend off a serpent about to devour the three eggs in her nest!
