Frank Patania Sr.(1899-1964) designed this sterling silver necklace c. 1940-50's for his Thunderbird shop in Santa Fe, New Mexico. By the Philadelphia PA silversmith, Christian Wiltberger (1766-1851), this lovely cream jug was likely made around 1800, as Wiltberger was active in Philadelphia from the 1790s until the early years of the 19th century. We are showing a dramatic vintage Mexican Silver bib necklace with warmed turquoise stones and marked only with 925. You can see the hammered silver on the underside which I love to see in a pre Spratling dated necklace. There is a 17 inch wearable currently and it does come with 2 extra links for a longer look.
