A bold modernist necklace by the important Silver Master Antonio Pineda features unique hand cut black Onyx stones set in thick crescent shaped 970 silver links. From his third design period, hallmarks date this Spratling cuff 1964-1967. It's a book-piece design, shown on p.109 of Spratling Silver: A Field Guide. There are ten silver rivets. Should fit up to a 6 1/2" wrist. Width is 1 5/8" in the center front. Opening/gap is 1 1/16". Weight is 53.4 grams. Signed and hallmarked with the WS Print Square "WS William Spratling .925 Taxco Mexico" and the eagle assay 63. In fine vintage condition.

A very pretty pair of Victorian earrings fashioned as lapis lazuli orbs suspended from 14K gold caps decorated with Etruscan beading and rope-twist motifs. The lapis has a beautiful deep violet-blue color of near-Afghan quality with just a small amount of white calcite. The ear wires appear to be original. Tested and guaranteed 14K.

An intriguing pair of 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces set with triangular cabochons of labradorite. In bright lighting conditions, the stones exhibit the unusual play of bluish-greenish color desired in labradorite. The color seems to emanate from within the stones and float on the surface over the gray and cream body color. Each of the cufflinks is stamped with French 18K marks and an unidentified goldsmith's mark (S.Cie. with an anvil).

This is a spectacular set of necklace, pin, and earrings which were produced 1930's - early 1940's in Mexico. The design is one which originated from Fred Davis, and also one which is very seldom seen. This set does not bear the FD mark from Davis, but is simply hallmarked "Silver Made in Mexico". It is my belief that this was likely created by the same silversmith who produced the design for Fred Davis - who contracted several master silversmiths to produce his designs.
