The necklace comprises 47 butterfly-shaped graduated links, each separately hinged so they lie perfectly flat around the neck. The links are worked in the heavily textured style favored by Vassort. The center 21 links are each studded with a diamond so delicately set that it appears to float over its link. The diamonds are graded as E color and VVS1 clarity...

This pair of 18Kt white gold natural sapphire and natural diamond cluster earrings project elegance and style. The masterfully created earrings are centered by two oval sapphires with the approximate total weight of 0.90Ct, and the sapphires are surrounded by 20 full cut diamonds with the approximately total weight of 0.40Ct. The oval clusters measure 10 X 6 millimeters. The earrings have posts with secure ear knots.

This elegant stickpin features a stylized flower design, based on a Japanese family crest. It is marked “k20” on the back, and tests as a very strong 20kt, so it might be finer. The flower head measures 1/2 x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. It weighs 2.4g. The pin is a little bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), and course that can’t be seen when it’s worn, and could easily be straightened. Otherwise in excellent condition, and circa 1900...

This pretty ring consists of a flower made of six pearl “petals” (one of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a lock of hair, but no glass. The ring tests as a very strong 14kt, so it is probably 15kt (and therefore English). Cobalt blue enamel decorates the shoulders, which we’ve had touched up – this ring was obviously very well loved, and it’s still beautiful! Size 6. Early Victorian or late Georgian...

I don’t often use the expression “Holy Grail” but Tane’s “Tarascan” necklace is one of those few pieces in the world of vintage Mexican silver jewelry that deserves it. A substantial set from Taxco's "middle period" this stunning necklace and earrings demi combines chunky cylinders of azur-malachite with shadow-box sterling box links. The result is quite impressive as the primarily green hues of the stone (the malachite is predominant here) are tempered by the variegated brown of the inclusions, all colors finally reflected in the glowing silver. I love a good chain necklace and this example combines good length with a presence that will never go unattended...

Based on an Antonio Pineda design this Mexican modernist silver necklace by Cheo I would go as far as to describe as "industrial"! The oblong sterling links and the concave oval connectors are characterized by strong geometry and have an intense "utilitarian" vibe about them. And the opaque green "onyx" glass bars they encompass mirror that "no fuss" attitude. Cheo is one of those workshops we don't know much about but I have seen their work several times over the years...

This intriguing (and slightly strange!) pair of pins is from the Art Nouveau era. They feature a woman’s face flanked by flowers, and her hair is greenish – just a little scary! We have been unable to determine what the metal is, so assume it’s not precious. They measure 1-1/4” x 1/2”. The pin stem assemblies are old, but they may be replacements. Circa 1900. Magnificent custom commissioned French clear rhinestone bib necklace and earrings. Gilt brass mounting with all prong set rhinestones numbering 42 large oval faceted and 276 medium round faceted stones. Made to order in Paris for a 1955 beauty queen.

These gigantic dangle clip earrings are stunning! Signed YSL and measuring 4 1/2" long and spreading 3 1/2" wide, these goldtone earrings present a starburst effect. They are studded aurora borealis channel set rhinestones. The dangle is topped off with a large citrine colored glass cabachon. A coiled spring on the clip makes for ease of wearing.

This necklace was purchased in Milan in the late 1970's. It is stunning in its simplicity. The design and sparkle of the attached disk is eye catching. Note the interesting metal, between silver and gun metal in color. Chain 18" long. Disk 1 3/4" high, 1 3/8" wide.

The cobras on the choker and earrings are not the least intimidating. Rather they bring a smile and a sense of admiration for their whimsy and fun. This set is among HAR's masterpieces of fantasy figurals. From a gold plated rope chain a teal green cobra curls. He is bedecked with topaz iridescent rhinestones and chunky purple stones. Necklace is 18" with closure in the front. Clip earrings match the cobra head and stones on the necklace. 1 1/4" by 1 1/4".

What can be said about this set except Spectacular! If worn against black, the glittering rhinestones seem to float, unattached. If worn against a colored fabric , the japanned (blackened) metal sets off the rhinestones in a stunning and dramatic fashion. The necklace is 17 1/2" end to end, the longest fringe is 4 3/4", shortest 1 1/4". The Dangle clip earrings are 2 1/4" long. Kenneth Lane oval plaque on earrings.
