A 12 X 7 millimeter oval cabochon opal with vibrant colors centers this great 14Kt yellow gold 1960-s cluster ring. The center opal is surrounded by 17 prong set round faceted natural rubies. These 18Kt yellow gold and diamond earrings have a wonderful spiral swirl design date back to the 1960-s. On each earring there are ten full cut diamonds set in two rows following the shape of the earring. The approximate total weight of all 20 diamonds is 0.90Ct. Here is a brightly colored, enamel Panda Bear charm: so cute. It measures 7/8" x 7/8". The back of the charm is marked MEXICO 925 and eagle 15 mark. Although eagle number 15 was used by such famous silversmiths as Los Castillo and Antonio Pineda, this piece was very, very likely to have been made by Castelan, who used only eagle number 15 and did some work with silver and enamel (although, he worked mostly with just sterling silver)...

These stunning Antonio Pineda Amethyst Earrings have a Modernist style with a elongated tapered tube of silver with a cone shaped amethyst stone set to dangle at the bottom. They measure 3" long and together they weigh 26.6 grams. Hallmarked with the Antonio Crown on one and the eagle 17 on the other (marks are a bit faint and impossible to get a good picture). The screw backs function well and there is only light wear and tarnish, no damage noted. Chic and elegant with timeless style.

This sophisticated, cleanly designed ring features an onyx cabochon mounted in the center of a carnelian disc, set in 14kt gold. Both stones are in lovely condition; the gold band is unmarked, but has been tested for gold content. The ring dates from the 1960s, and has a classy, "mod" look that reads mid- to late 1960s. The setting measures about 3/4 inch in diameter and about 1/4 inch high. The ring is a size 6 1/2-7.

A pair of high quality 1960s French 18K gold earrings featuring cabochons of ruby, sapphire and emerald nestled in a spiky gold design the resembles chestnuts as they burst from their shells at the peak of ripeness. The gemstones are intensely saturated in pure tones of red, blue and green. The earrings bear French hallmarks for 18K gold and have an unidentified maker's mark "Ste EUR". The earrings have clip backs, but the levers have an opening so posts could be added, if desired.

These fine cuff links have a diameter of 3/4". They display an abstract character: a J or a P? The backs are marked LEONORE DOSKOW HANDMADE STERLING. The toggle findings are also marked STERLING. The cuff links are in excellent condition, circa 1950s-1960s.

A native is hunting a giraffe in this hunting scene from South Africa. The scene is carved out of bone and set in a 9 Ct yellow gold pendant. The pendant is 5/8” rounded square, and 3.5 millimeters thick.

Inspired by an ancient Aztec or Maya eagle head glyph this set of Antonio Pineda cufflinks were crafted in the maestro’s favorite, .970 silver alloy. This sterling silver tie bar features a finely cast Viking ship, a signature Georg Jensen motif. It appears hardly used, and the Jensen marks are well struck, including the post-1945 maker's mark as well as marks for sterling, Denmark, and the design number of 50. This wonderful brooch exhibits a foliate, flowering branch motif. Its 3 circular, petals are slightly convex with striations to central buds. The curved stems are adorned with the same buds / balls (just a bit larger). This piece measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/4" x 1/4". The back is marked STERLING with the Carl - Art (CA with an arrow through it) maker's mark: Carl-Art, Inc. Providence, Rhode Island). This pin is circa 1950's or 60's. Enrique Ledesma high sheen Mexican silver work of art weighing 50 grams and having a height of 7/8th of an inch. My pictures truly can not capture the beauty of this bracelet. In my hands the obsidian is BLAZING and I could not get one photo of it. There are reflections in the pictures, no loss or damage. An excellent example of Ledesma workmanship at a time before lazers were used to cut the jewelers stones.

It's been a while since I presented a piece by Gerardo Lopez but he is one of my favorite Taxco maestros, a talented silversmith and designer who excelled in the art of repoussage. I believe Lopez was at his best when he created pectoral necklaces and clamper bracelets and it is an exquisite example of the latter form that I am showing here. Definitely inspired by Los Castillo and Margot de Taxco (I have suggested in the past that Lopez must have worked for either one or both of the famous works...
