A superb pair of double-sided Art Deco silver cufflinks by E. Besseire & Cie. The hexagonal faces are decorated with red, green and black blocks of opaque champlevé enamels highlighted with silver shield-shaped and squiggle accents. The faces are connected bychains. The backs of each face are marked with Besseire’s maker’s mark and with assay marks for silver.

Hallmarks date this magnificent Matilde Poulat fish necklace 1934-1940. Truly a masterpiece with superb repoussé silver work. There are nine dangling fish, each with a coral eye. Eleven panels are adorned with triple turquoise cabochons. One of her most sought after designs, and quite rare. Measures 16 1/4" closed, wearable length. Center fish dangles 3" tall from top of turquoise to bottom of tail. Weight is 145 grams...

This moth design necklace from Matilde Poulat bears her earliest block "MATL" hallmark used 1934-1940. It's a true masterpiece, hand-wrought with exquisite silver work. Measures a closed, wearable length of 18 1/2". The centerpiece is 2 5/16" wide and 2 5/8" tall. The turquoise stone measures 3/4" wide. Weight is 55.8 grams. Signed and hallmarked "MATL" and "0.900.

Gorgeous on angles at a V and known to be a Valentin Vidaurreta design signed and produced by William Spratling. Inner diameter 2.25in. 2.5in. at highest point. The gap is 1.25in. and can be warmed by a professional jeweler to make smaller or larger. This silver is higher than 925 and is silky to the hand. The faces have beautifully rendered depictions of a ruffed grouse, a sandpiper, a standing mallard duck, and a mallard duck in flight. Very special Art Nouveau gold filled double-sided "Mercury" motif pendant, circa 1900. In Roman mythology, Mercury was the messenger and protector. This beautifully executed pendant is circle shaped and features a youthful Mercury wearing a winged helmet surrounded by eight marcasite stars, hinged at the base, reverse side with script monogram EMJ. Size: 1 1/2" dia. Condition is very good. Front is perfect. Wear to the reverse plate.

A very nice Retro 14K yellow gold statement ring set with an imposing lemon yellow emerald cut citrine flanked by natural ruby cabochons. The split shank with a cage setting holds the citrine only at the very corners, so from the top, the entire ring appears to be one large expanse of gemstone. The rubies provided a nice pop of color. Vintage Bakelite bypass bangle in marbled Mississippi mud with carved stylized snake heads. It has a slightly oval shape. Tests positive for Bakelite and guaranteed vintage and original. Circa 1935. 1 inch wide at crossover. Inside diameters are 2 1/2 and 2 5/8 inches. Just under 1/2 inch thick. This piece is slightly larger than average diameter. Excellent condition. An important early brooch of sterling silver by the acclaimed American modernist jeweler, Margaret De Patta. Measures 3" long and 1 5/8" at the widest. Early incised maker's mark. Circa 1935. Heavy layered sterling in an abstract floral design. Wonderful condition, with some very minor surface scratches and tarnish. Missing the rollover bar on the clasp. Slight bend on the pin. Circa 1930's - 1940's, this easel frame is the work of Matilde Poulat / Matl. It's entirely hand-wrought and exquisitely crafted, with two beautiful repoussé birds. There is a faceted amethyst along with branch coral and turquoise and coral cabochons. It's very rare to find one of these frames which was made by Matilde Poulat, herself, in this early time frame, and this one pulls out all the stops. Measures 4 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" tall. A lovely pair of colorful Retro earrings worked in 14K yellow gold. Each earring is fashioned in a stylized fan pattern set at the center with a round brilliant cut blue zircon and a spray of oval cabochon moonstones. The intense electric blue of the zircons heightens the softer, billowy blue adularescence of the moonstones. The zircons are set in rose gold, while the moonstones are in yellow. A gorgeous 14K gold bracelet with inter-linked carved flowers (bone?), which are charmingly yellow with age patina. Each flower measures about 1.7 by 1.7 cm, and were individually hand carved (no two are exactly the same). This bracelet fits a wrist of diameter 6.5 cm or smaller.

This amazing and beautiful necklace by Hector Aguilar is crafted in his favorite 940 Silver and is known as his "Six Spheres" design. It measures 19" long by 1 1/2" wide and weighs an impressive 233.4 grams. Hallmarked "HA, Taxco, 940". Secure box clasp. No damage noted. This necklace is featured in many books on Mexican Silver and is a fine example of this style.

Bird doll motif. Pre assay era Made in Mexico bird pin brooch. Early - tested at least sterling - colossal 4 3/4" north to south with 2 turquoise beads. This figural exhibits flowers in the style of Fred Davis or Matilde Poulat. Repousse and chase workmanship.
The native peoples were known to make dolls representing the local animals for their children to play. Today those same children are being taught the value in Nature Tourism.
