This exquisite fruit berries pin was made in Austria almost exclusively for export to the United States. It has a wonderful rich color. It is made of molded or carved glass, usually transparent or translucent. The glowing appearance of the fruit is enhanced by the fact that the glass is backed with gold foil, making it both richer in color and more light reflective. The leaves and stems of the fruit pale green crystal rhinestone.

It later earned the nickname “Sputnik” for its resemblance to the spike Soviet satellite launched in 1957. Tested and guaranteed 18K.
