A stunning Victorian butterfly brooch worked in 14K yellow gold and silver. The body comprises a cabochon garnet inset with a rose cut diamond, all set between a pair of bright green emerald eyes and a tapering tail of natural pearls The delicately pierced wings are set with 24 rose cut diamonds, two rubies, two emeralds and eight blue sapphires. This old vintage brass pendant has a seated Buddha detailed on the front with good stone work. The back of the pendant depicts a double has dorjie. Measured on the diagonals...2.5 inches x 2.75 inches.

These 1920s two-sided cuff links are nicely decorated, with molded circular centers reminiscent of engine-turned engraving and black enameled, eight-sided borders. They are marked sterling on the backs and the buttons are securely connected with soldered bridge links. Each measures ½ inch wide. Weight 5.6 grams

An unusual horseshoe shape shell cameo brooch in a gold filled setting circa 1920 - 1930. This vintage beautifully carved cameo was designed for a family with a passion for horse racing. It measures s 2-1/8" x 1-7/8", it has a safety catch and it has a swing-up loop for wear as a pendant. The carving is quite fine and the setting has a maker's mark of WRJ (W.R. Johnson, Toronto). A large, modernist pendant, "Mustang" by Bjorn Weckstrom for Lapponia in bronze with light flame coloring.

Marked Lapponia, Finland and some other marks too difficult to read. Measures 3 3/4" long and 2 3/4" across. Heavy, three dimensional and substantial. Original chain measures 26" long and has the sliding clasp which holds securely. Very nice condition, surface shows some minor scratches and a little wear.

The Deco year saw an influx of gorgeous jewelry out of China in which, more often than not, contemporary silver work was combined with antique elements like carved semi-precious stone buttons, medallions and even mah-jhong and other game pieces. The ring I am presenting here is an immigrant of that era. Delicate silver vermeil adjustable shank and an old amethyst "button" with a lotus flower carving come together in an understated, classically elegant combination...

This very elegant amethyst and diamond estate cluster ring is centered by a 16 X 12 millimeter oval faceted amethyst with an approximate weight of 10 carats. The center stone is surrounded by two rows of prong set round diamonds. The approximate total weight of all 64 diamonds is 0.64Ct. The ring is a size 8 and can be easily sized.

A vintage Edwardian period 2-1/4" sterling silver bar pin with a 3/4 x 5/8" glass covered butterfly wing center c1900-20. A vintage pair of 14K gold double-sided cufflinks, the faces set with blue sapphires by Tiffany & Co. The faces are engraved in a geometric rayed pattern for a little extra sparkle. The faces are joined by bar connectors, one of which is marked “Tiffany & Co.” Tested and guaranteed 14K.

Round mod geometric applied designs on dome post earrings script signed "Sterling" "Howison" with large sterling earring backs. Julie Howison a jewelry designer from Portland Maine. These were hammered into a dome shape then a spiral, triangle and squiggle were applied. Total weight of 1/2 Ounce or 15 Grams and are 7/8" across and 1/4" heavy hollow deep.

A pair of gold and agate baton cufflinks, the agate very dark, a brown strip visible when held towards the light. Made around 1920, French 18K hallmarks to the small links attached to the batons. Condition: fine.

Large modernist silver pin, probably 1970s, with large faceted round cut dark raspberry shade amethyst (diameter approximately 12 mm) surrounded by lighter natural cabochon amethysts and set with 4 large freshwater pearls. Approximately 2 inch square, a real statement piece!

Admittedly my favorite Mexican modernist, Salvador Teran seems to have never had a "bad" moment during his career. There is not one piece of his that I have come upon which I have not loved for its quirky abstraction, its sometimes tongue-in-cheek genius, its magical way of playing with layers, abstraction and oxidation. The mod pendant presented here provides a good illustration, I believe, of the point I am trying to make...

Made by Isaac Cohen, Stockholm and marked ICO, S:t Erik’s head (the hallmark for Stockholm), R9 = year mark for 1967, three crowns and S indicating the Swedish silver standard of the time = 830/1000.
