This ring made by Miguel Martinez is such a striking creative piece of seeing a stone an letting the rock speak. The band flows from underneath to the front to hold in the stone. The dimensions are 12.4 grams heavy and a size 8.5 which can be sized. The face is 1.25in. long and .75in. wide. This is an early piece of Miguels work and he became the principle designer of Rancho Allegre. Properly hallmarked as show. Fabulous and daring piece.

A 9K carnelian & bloodstone spinning or rotating watch fob with carnelian on one side and a bloodstone on the reverse, fully hallmarked for Chester, England 1919-20. This very Victorian grooming chatelaine is from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements: a tweezers, one for cleaning nails, and an ear-cleaning device. (We saw a similar chatelaine on eBay, and the ear-cleaning implement was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so! However, as non-opium users, we could be wrong ….) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age...

Here is a very Victorian brooch, featuring a cross, anchor, and heart, symbols of faith, hope and charity. The metal has very nice engraving. Unmarked, but made of a layer of gold on top of what looks like copper. Mystery maker: Vintage silver tested unsigned unmarked Nouveau Deco Arts Crafts era scarab cabs A or B ring with applied foliate reminding one of Doris Cliff, Ms. French by the first and maybe European (B). The leaf motif looks very much like the English jewelry maker by the name of Bernard Instone. This silver smithing style is found locally perhaps handcrafted for Boston Society of Arts & Crafts? It is hallmarked but the mark is incomplete; the marks for Birmingham and England are present, along with an unidentified mark. There is no date stamp but the 2" wide pin appears to be circa 1890.

This chain is nicely hand-constructed with applied cast curled pieces that are reminiscent of the applied and hand-worked French chains of the turn of the 20th century. This one appears to be a bit later; the beading looks to have been cast with the rest of the elements and connected with hand-formed S-shaped links. A pair of vintage brooches from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, one in the shape of a 6 pointed star and the other a whale. Great hammered textures.

The whale measures 3 1/8" long and 5/8" wide. The star measures 1 3/8" across and 1 1/4" high.

Both are marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. The clasps hold securely. They are in fine condition with some minor scratches. Warm patina.

A very unusual hand wrought copper necklace with lightly hammered curved links. The end of each link slips through a small slit and is then hammered flat so it won't come out. Hard to explain but ingenious!

This is a beautiful Alpha Xi Delta sorority pin with 15 graduated peals. It is engraved M. Mullingeaux 1/25/25. This is a national sorority / fraternity founded in 1893 at Lombard College. Their motto is " the pen is mightier than the sword." This pin tests 14K but is not hallmarked.

The rich look of these cuff links comes from the intricate engine-turned engraving and deeply embossed scrolled, vine-like borders. The backs exhibit securely soldered split bridge bars connected to domed anchor buttons known as bean backs. The bridge bars bear the mark for 14kt gold and what looks to be the maker’s mark of M.B. Lovely vintage sterling silver brooch set with a cluster of eight Mikimoto-quality pearls. The pearls range from 6.0 to 7.5mm. They have very white body color with silvery overtones. The nacre is thick and very lustrous. Mikimoto supplied other jewelers with pearls and it is most likely that these are by Mikimoto. The openwork sterling silver setting in a stylized floral form is typical of the 1950s and the clasp is identical to those used by Mikimoto during the period. The back is marked ...

An ornate piece of cast work featuring flowers, scrolls, garlands and scallop shells. The pin is set with a central faceted rectangular citrine, tiny pieces of orange glass and seed pearls. The C-clasp is secure; the pin stem is struck with a special Hungarian mark used from 1937-1999 indicating a piece that may have left the country temporarily, as for an exhibition. The brooch measures 1 ½ inches long by 1 1/8 inches wide.

The wheels turn on this covered wagon and oxen pin from the 1930s. Oxidized base metal set with pastel rhinestones in shades of pink, purple, aqua, yellow, and green. It is unsigned. It is 2 1/4" long by 1 1/4" tall.

This is a marvelous example of a period antique bangle bracelet crafted in sterling silver with channel set square paste gems. Detailed and fine engraving is scrolled along the silver work of the entire band. The clasp is a tongue and groove closure.

This bakelite heart pin with 12 cherries is definitely bakelite. The heart is 2 1/4" x 2 1/16" with the 12 cherries. The only thing not original to this pin is the wire. Everything else is excellent.
