These Mexican cuff links are unmarked but their design featuring a Precolumbian-style figure indicates their origin. They are also marked 980 on the backs of one side, a silver content consistent with Mexican jewelry. They are likely from the 1930s to 1950. The larger button measures ¾ inch in diameter. This is a pre-1948 Rafael Melendez bracelet that is so deeply chased and designed so beautifully. It is 1 inch wide and can fit a large range of sizes. The weight is 43 grams of thick silver. It has a turquoise stone that is gorgeous and has changed into over time a warmer tone of blue green. This piece is collector quality and a real treasure.
This wonderful piece can be worn a a bracelet charm or a pendant. It consists of 8 miniature skeleton keys. The 6 middle keys each end with a heart with the letters LONDON (where the "blade" would be). The outer keys each have a heart (where the "blade" would be). Each key dangles 5/8". The even make a slight jingling sound when worn. This piece is superb.
