A handsome pair of silver double-sided cufflinks in the form of horseshoes. The faces are nicely detailed and the cufflinks have good weight. The connectors are marked "935", indicating a purity slightly higher than sterling silver, and also have an unidentified maker's mark "MV."

One of Taxco's most famous modernists Sigi Pineda was also a very prolific designer and at his best moments, truly inspired. I am used to seeing minimalist, fluid pieces by him and the brooch at hand, wrought in sterling silver and adorned with a teardrop-shaped obsidian, is the result of a good moment indeed...

A very attractive 18K yellow gold fob charm in the Etruscan Revival style. The lantern-shaped charm is set with four oval cabochons of amazonite. The gold surfaces are heavily decorated with applied rosettes and wirework. Tested and guaranteed 18K.

One of the best lapidaries in Taxco’s jewelry history, Felipe Martinez created amazing jewelry in many styles. The classy sterling silver and azur-malachite earrings at hand follow the “mozaico Azteca” line that was introduced by the Los Castillo workshop. A rare find. Lanvin jewelry is not often seen. This dramatic piece is of plastic with glass spacers and goldtone metal accents. The vibrant white and blue beads surround coral colored beads (paler in the picture than they actually are). The oval metal tag is marked Lanvin, Paris. Total inside length is 27".

A heavy 18K yellow gold egg-shaped fob charm decorated with ornate beading and twisted wirework in the Victorian Etruscan Revival style. The fob is further enhanced with oval and round coral cabochons. The coral is the intense orangey-red shade displayed by coral along the Mediterranean coast. Sold through Plateria Cortes this Taxco mid-century silver and stone necklace is signed by Enrique Ledesma and indeed considered a classic example of the Mexican modernist. Ledesma excelled in the marriage of sterling and semi-precious or hard stones is sleek, minimalist designs so his jewelry has a timeless appeal and is very much relevant today as it was when it first saw the day of light...

A vintage 14K white gold navette-shaped cocktail ring, set with round brilliant cut diamonds and round blue sapphires. The diamonds are I/J color and I1 clarity. The sapphires are graded as medium-dark blue color and eye-clean clarity. The inside of the shank is stamped 14K.

Very early Kenneth Jay Lane hinged cuff with the earliest K.J.L. mark. Covered with pave white rhinestones and green, red and ruby cabochons, as well as emerald color square cut accents. A hair under 1" (2.3 cm) wide, the interior diameter is 2 3/8" (6.4 cm) x 2 1/8" (5.3 cm). The snap closure is tight and the cuff is in original vintage condition. This is the Moghul style at its best.

The combination of fine, high purity silver and moonstone is one of my favorite and was equally favored, it seems, by Antonio Pineda, Taxco's renowned modernist. Set in three-dimensional 970 silver settings the stones at hand have a luminous pearlescence that draws the eye into their magical depths, and perfectly reflect the warm glow of the precious metal surrounding them. Antonio's jewelry is characterized by an unfailing sense of easy luxury and that feeling is present here as well...

The art of "metales casados" (mixed or married metals) was practiced by several Taxco workshops yet I think Victoria was its queen. Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti combined copper, silver and brass not only to design exquisite jewelry but also hollowware of various kinds and decorative objects. In the necklace presented here she seems to be inspired by Egyptian Revival motifs which is not unusual for her - there are at least a couple of other parures she created that tread that same path...

This neat Coro pendant measures 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" x 1/8". It features a cool, sterling, geometric design applied over a textured, hammered, ("dimpled"), shiny, blue background. The back is textured, sterling silver and signed Coro (in script) with the copyright symbol - raised and thick, c. 1960's. The pendant has good heft and is in excellent condition.

A very nice pair of 18K yellow gold baton cufflinks, the batons worked with engraved reeding and each bound in a diagonal slash of gold with a hand-stippled surface. The baton faces are hinged so they can lie tightly against the cuff. The connectors are marked “18K Cherny”.

This mid-century bracelet by Antonio Pineda is unique and unusual. And a real stunner. It reminds me of a tiara, or a crown. Tipped with nine pearls, executed in 970 silver, it's a heavy and substantial hand-wrought showpiece. Hinged at both sides to open wide and easily fit over the wrist, closure is a tight and secure tongue in box. Collector quality. Closed, wearable length is 6 3/4"...

Amazing statement size signed Coppola e Toppo bib necklace in silver finished oblong glass beads with round smoke gray margarita Swarovski beads at the end of each drop. Circa 1960. All beads are glass. Collectors will recognize this as an important book piece. With the signature Coppola e Toppo beaded end pieces mounted in silvertone metal and with an extender chain with goldtone rings and colorless beads. Marked MADE IN ITALY BY COPPOLA E TOPPO...

Stunning statement size vintage pendant necklace and matching clip earrings. Necklace and earrings are marked STERLING and signed with initials JB. The stone is probably an amethyst but I have not had it verified by a gemologist. 1960s, from a Pittsburgh estate. Heavy and substantial at 106 grams for all pieces together. The necklace links are dimensional and sculpted. The necklace has a wearable length of 30 inches but can be clasped at many points along the chain...

This beautiful piece can be a charm or a pendant. It measures 1" x 5/8". It is gold over sterling silver. The "spokes" are inlaid in black enamel. The back is marked STER with a maker's mark I cannot identify. Upon looking in the peephole, one can see The Lord's Prayer vividly. This piece is in excellent condition.
