A very fine, large vintage silver knifewing pin with multi stone inlay of spiny oyster, turquoise, jet and mother of pearl, circa 1940. Knifewing represents the Zuni god of war. This symbol was worn by warriors to protect them in battle, but also represents courage, honor, wisdom and strength. The pin measures 3 1/8" by 2 3/4" and weighs 35 grams. It is in fine original condition. The stones are free of chips or cracks. A beautiful example of vintage Zuni lapidary work.

We have an early cuff and earring set that is marked with only Mexico Sterling. The filigree is thick and heavy. The frame going around is firm. The curls are precise and great care was made for the prongs that hold the stone to have the feel for the rest of the design with filigree loops. Sir Alexander Korda was a Hungarian born film director and producer. He was the first film director to be knighted. This movie started the trend for collectors wanting jewelry like the pieces worn in the movie. Most of this jewelry was produced by Rice Weiner. This pin is circa 1940 the same time that the film came out.

This copper pin is hand-constructed with architectural elements and securely set with a copper disc enameled in turquoise. This classic Art Deco ring is composed of two half-moons of carnelian flanking a vertical row of marcasites. The carnelian is secured by four split prongs, and there is an embossed scroll design along both sides of the shank that shows a bit of wear. The bottom part of the band exhibits a small applied piece of silver, most likely from sizing. The inside of the band is marked sterling. The oval top of the ring measures about 3/4 inch by 5/8 inch. It is sized at a 4 1/4.
