Very rare brass and enamel pin signed "MACCHIARINI", c.1940's. Peter Macchiarini(deceased) was a very famous San Francisco modernist jewelry designer and his works are extremely desirable. The provenance of this piece has been identified by his son, Dan Macchiarini. He states that it was a private commission by someone wanting a clown face. This turned out to be a joint venture between Peter and his then student, Virginia De Haas, whom he later married...

Deco(retro) two-color 14k gold pin with two cultured pearls, probably made in Germany, c. 1930's. The yellow gold background has applied rose gold leaves and pearls. Very delicate 10K yellow gold pin set with a collet-set square-cut synthetic ruby. The linear design and the geometric shape of the stone show the beginnings of Art Deco influence. Similarly, the use of a synthetic stone is common in jewelry of the period. Even makers such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpel used synthetics. Marked "10K".

Lovely necklace signed "HK HANDMADE STERLING DENMARK" made of sterling and enamel. Although extremely rare to see his signature on non George Jensen pieces, it is probably made by Henning Koppel(1918-1982). In "Silver Jewelry" by Fred Rezazadeh, on page 100, it states that "Koppel's jewelry exhibits modern and abstract designs derived form nature, sometimes enhanced with enamelwork." It also shows that "HK" is Koppel's signature, aside from his work with Jensen...

Coiled aluminum wire ring made without soldering, in the style of Alexander Calder, c.1950's. Has large circular design and measures 1 1/4" in diameter. This is typical fine work by Hobe. The leaves and bow are layered. The roses go a step further by having individual petals wrap to form a circle just as real roses do. The semi-triangular plaque with the rectangular bottom marked Hobe, sterling, 1/20 14k, indicates that this brooch is lovely older Hobe dating between 1918 and 1932. 3" long.1 1/2" wide. 1/2" deep.
