The plating is 14kt gold over brass and the paste stones are set in silver plated channel. A modernist sterling silver ring by noted mid century jeweler, Sam Kramer, in an abstract shape with a green, possibly Chryoprase, bezel set cabochon. Measures about a 7 1/2. This sturdy cuff bracelet features a ribbed design that runs horizontally along the entire piece. It has kept its shape and has a soft, warm patina from age. A few very minor scratches, hardly noticeable without magnification. The inside is marked sterling; there is no maker’s mark. While it has a Mexican feel, it is probably American-made. The cuff has a graduated width, measuring 1 3/8 inches at its widest area; the inside circumference measures 6 5/6 inches. Weight: 38.9 grams
This pretty ring consists of a flower made of six pearl “petals” (one of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a lock of hair, but no glass. The ring tests as a very strong 14kt, so it is probably 15kt (and therefore English). What can be said about this set except Spectacular! If worn against black, the glittering rhinestones seem to float, unattached. If worn against a colored fabric , the japanned (blackened) metal sets off the rhinestones in a stunning and dramatic fashion. The necklace is 17 1/2" end to end, the longest fringe is 4 3/4", shortest 1 1/4". The Dangle clip earrings are 2 1/4" long. Kenneth Lane oval plaque on earrings.

A wonderful figural fob seal depicting England’s patron St. George defeating the dragon. The design is worked primarily in silver, but the horse’s bridle, the dragon’s dorsal ridge and the saint’s spear and shield are worked in yellow gold. The gold base encloses a flat malachite that was never engraved. Tested and guaranteed sterling silver and 18K gold.

A handsome pair of cufflinks and three matching shirt studs in 18K yellow gold set with blue sapphires. The faces are fashioned as knots, the individual gold “threads” textured in a rope-twist motif for added interest. Each knot is centered with a brilliant round-cut blue sapphire. The sapphires have nice color saturation, and the gold is quite heavy. Each cufflink is marked “18K”. The faces of the shirt studs are also 18K, but the spring mechanism on the back is 14K.

A classic pair of Art Deco sterling silver stirrup cufflinks, the ends set with black onyx sugarloaf cabochons. This style of cufflink was popularized by Cartier in the 1920s. The cufflinks bear Swiss import hallmarks used until 1934, and are stamped "935" indicating that they have a slightly higher pure silver content than sterling silver.

A fine 14K yellow gold locket, the front cover decorated with deep translucent guilloche enamel over an engine-turned background surrounded by a reeded border enameled in opaque white. The front is centered with an old mine cut diamond. The trefoil-shaped bail is an especially nice touch. The interior retains the original frame insert. You can’t help but notice these Victorian daisy earrings. The round center has a finely hammered finish and is surrounded by 10 freshwater pearl petals on each earring. The posts most likely were replaced when someone converted the earrings to pierced, but they are 14Kt gold.

Doris Silver was a store in Taxco where artisans could make their jewels in Doris's back room. If she liked the work she would buy it. I have found some of the very best pieces from her shop. Many of the best known silver smiths worked here. This necklace displays a large presence with a drop of 3.75 in. and a wearable of 18in.
