A rare example of Jose Luis Flores's work to come upon, this distinctly modernist necklace made my day when I discovered it. I have in the past sold the matching bracelet to it but this specific form eluded me for the longest of times and I am thrilled to be offering it here. Made up of links constructed using overlay, hand-cutting and chasing as well as oxidation, it brings to mind Teran's biomorphism and the design's execution is flawless...

Simple, elegant modernist earrings of irregular-shaped panels by Frances Holmes Boothby, bezel-set with cabochons of dyed black onyx. They have very secure screw backs and are marked fhb on the reverse of one, sterling on the other, with sterling indicated on both of the screw backs. A nicely-detailed late Victorian pin depicting a lion’s head. The open mouth grasps a 10-point old European-cut diamond, while each eye is set with a small cabochon ruby. The head is surrounded by flowing fur that hints at Art Nouveau styling. The design is similar to a tiger’s head brooch that was made by Alling & Co., and probably was made by one of Alling’s Newark competitors. The c-clasp is an old replacement. A pair of modernist sterling silver screw back earrings in a tulip design by the noted MCM studio jeweler, Paul Lobel. Constructed of a layer of oxidized sterling with a contrasting polished curved sterling wire overlay.

A very nice pair of Victorian cufflinks, the rectangular faces with canted corners and decorated with a plain band bisecting a field decorated with rococo foliate engraving. This is a design type more often seen on English cufflinks of the period, and it has a faintly heraldic appearance. The plain band, in fact, would have been ideal for a monogram. This 1950s necklace has a very clean and classic design, and is well constructed with secure, rope-like chain. The central part of the necklace evolves into a thicker but elegantly entwined chain and tapers off toward the ends. It has the original spring-ring clasp. A vintage modernist sterling silver cuff bracelet by Danish silversmith, Palle Bisgaard in a tiered curved shape. His torque necklace, part of this same line is included in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is the widest version of this cuff, with an extra tier at the bottom edge.

Measures about 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1" and 3/4" at the widest. There does not appear to be much give so it is better for an average to slender wrist.

Vintage 1950's sterling silver & onyx necklace designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda. Interior wearable length is 16 inches. Both stones & silver are in beautiful condition. Circa 1940's, here is a seldom seen pin from noted Taxco designer Hubert Harmon. Harmon was active for a short time, and this Neptune pin is signed and hallmarked with his winged feet and Hubert Harmon marks dating likely 1942-1948.

This ring has an oval, biomorphic shape with a sparkly, green, glass cab in the center. It is surmounted on a tapered band. It is a size 5 (but is adjustable). It measures 1 1/8" x 3/4" (at its widest) and 1/8" (at its "thickest"). The ring is thick, heavy gauge silver plate. It is very good condition.

A fine Italian Etruscan style 18K gold fob charm set with amethysts and pearls. The charm is shaped as a crown. The gold surfaces are enhanced with twisted wire and rosette motifs. Wonderfully designed hand made necklace by MAYA, Mexico, c.1950's after a Hubert Harmon design. Maya frequently copied Harmon designs. Looks just like silver with a great patina, but probably made of silver plate because there are no Mexican silver marks. The locking mechanism is separated from the main part by black velvet ribbon. Circa 1910, old mine cut diamond ring. Set in 14k rose gold and platinum, this 1.68 ct diamond has an EGL certificate stating it is N color and SI1 clarity. For such an old stone, it is beautifully set and nicely sparkly. It is almost an oval shape, but looks larger than its weight. The ring has 10 additional old mine cuts that total an additional .25 ct. The ring is a size 6 and the overall weight is 3.6 grams. It is in excellent condition.
