At first glance this appears to be a 17th century Dutch landscape oil on panel by someone like Ruisdael, Hobbema, Cuyp, Van Goyen, or other famous artists of that time and place. Closer examination reveals that this is actually a late 20th century work in that style, signed at lower right by artist J M GRISWOLD. I do not see information on the artist but he or she was clearly familiar with 17th century Dutch art...

Peter Moran, American, 1842-1914, "Noonday". A finely detailed original etching by Peter Moran, this image measures 7 3/4 x 10 5/8 inches, 1887, state II/III, cat: Wright- 94, with the separate frog remarque lower left, pencil signed, framed. Peter Moran was one of the foremost artists of the American etching revival of the late 19th century. He was known for his images of cows and farm animals, as well as his atmospheric scenes of the American Southwest.

An old watercolor painting of the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy, signed at lower left by the noted artist VITTORE ZANETTI-ZILLA (1869-1946). Measurements are 9 1/2" by 13 1/4" (14 3/4" by 18 1/2" as framed). The artist studied in Venice and in his mid twenties traveled through Europe, which had an effect on his style.
