Elyse Ashe Lord 1900-1971 British This is a fine hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Ashe Lord. The title is Kite Flying, created and printed circa 1925. This pencil signed impression was sold by Arthur Ackermann in New York. This came to us in the original Asian style frame with the Ackermann label on the back. The image measures 12 7/8X18 inches. The overall frame measures 20X26 inches. Very fine condition. Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.

A rarely seen print, featuring the familiar, landmark high bridge over the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena, California, by the well-known California plein air impressionist artist BENJAMIN CHAMBERS BROWN (1865-1942). Manuel Robbe, French, 1872-1936, "Claudine," colored etching and aquatint, plate measures 12 x 9 3/4 inches on 24 x 17 3/8 inch arches laid type paper. Print 26 in an edition of 65. C. 1903. Published by Sagot, Paris. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes, becoming a master of the aquatint medium. He developed much of his own aquatint techniques, which enabled him to create his uniquely painterly, richly colored images.
