Paul Doering is a Dutch artist born in Holland, He studied under the artists Joseph Israels and B. Lommers. He migrated to New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 1880s and was active in the art scene of Louisiana. He then migrated to Laguna Beach, California in 1911. He was very active in the southern California art scene through the 1930s. He is listed in the Who's Who in American Art" as well as the Artist's Blue Book 2005 Edition...

A nicely painted and early miniature portrait of a man done in watercolor on natural organic material. The blue-eyed sitter is a nice-looking gentleman fashionably attired in a full, long wig, a blue loose fitting robe, and white ruffled shirt.
One of the interesting things about this piece is that the original gold case is of a type known as a "slide case"...
A beautifully painted miniature portrait, on natural organic material, with an attribution to Pauline Augustin. The sitter, a young gentleman of strong presence with brown eyes and long flowing brown hair, is attired in a black coat, with white stock, vest, and shirt. The photograph does not do any justice to the quality of this piece.
The sight size is 4 5/8" by 4" and the framed size is 7 1/4" by 6 5/8". The condition is excellent with no issues or flaws...

In the period 1966-67, Haku Maki did two large series with Song as the theme.
There was Flower Song, a series of 10 prints. And there was Animal Song which was Maki’s Asian Zodiac series, with 12 images. It was also a small series with small editions--50 in the case of Animal Song (released in Kyoto, so very hard to find: only one friend has the full set), I do not know who has the full set of Flower Song.

This round shape gold hair (acicular) crystal is 3 ¼ inches tall, 2 ¼ inches wide and 1 ½ inches thick. It depicts a group of Chinese goldfish swimming in a weed filled pond. The gold hairs (or needles) make this well painted bottle even more interesting. The artist Shi Qing studied at Zhejiang Academy of Art. In 1983, he studied under Master Wang Guan-Yu. This inside painting by Yu Shi is 3 inches tall, 2 ¼ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches thick. One side depicts Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) dressed a white robe sitting in front of a lotus pond. The other side presents Guan Yin holding a jade Ru Yi (scepter) sitting on a lotus petal surrounded by clouds. The young servants, one boy (Jin Tong) and one girl (Yu Nu) are beside her. A parrot is flying in front of them with a string of prayer beads in its mouth...
