Original black-painted terra cotta sculpture of the head of an apparently African-American man, signed at the base "Marion Goodman". To date I have not located a listing for an artist by this name. The sculpture, which has some age (circa 1950's to 1970'?) measures roughly 18" high by 11" by 8"(including base) and weighs 22 pounds. The artist worked the clay with great skill to create a very life-like face, and the curls of the hair are also treated with care...

For the Hawaiiana fans, here is a clean Hale Pua anthuriums print, 13 3/4" by 10 3/4" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Close up magnification shows it to be some kind of later photo of an original airbrush painting, I believe (offset printing-type dots visible with a magnifier). The color seems to be just printed on rather than airbrushed, the signature, likewise. You need a magnifying glass to tell the difference...

A turn of the century watercolor painting of a forest at the edge of a lake at sunset, 10" by 14" (14" by 18" in recent quality framing) signed at lower left by Massachusetts artist C. MYRON CLARK (1858-1925). The impressionist scene is peaceful and sensitively painted. Clark was born in New York but is most closely associated with Massachusetts. He painted landscapes and also marines with clipper ships, in oil and watercolor. Works are held by the Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts...

PARKER" and dated there 1966. My first impression was that this might be a New Mexican scene, and research of the artist name suggests that this hunch might be right. Google shows a Miriam K...

Traditional watercolor still life of roses, yellow daffodils and maybe some dogwood, arranged in a white vase against a sketchily defined background, 20" by 22 1/2" (27" by 30 3/4" framed), apparently unsigned, though a number "1432" appears at lower right corner under the mat (I do NOT think it says 1932). The paper was laid on a board long ago. I think this dates to the 1940's or so; the hand was trained. Condition is excellent and this is ready for the wall.

This is an oil on board painting of a small house in a forest landscape, apparently unsigned, in the general tradition of the Hudson River School, 13 1/2" by 21 1/2" plus gold framing about 1 1/2" on a side. The work could date from about 1900 to maybe the mid 1920's, I would think. It is a decorative work that gives the feeling of a more expensive painting, when viewed from a distance...

Large opaque watercolor (gouache) of the historic, now highly desirable residential neighborhood known as Corinthian Island, near downtown Tiburon, California, across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, signed at lower left by artist A. This is a work of the noted illustrator JOSEPH CLAYTON CLARKE, who went by the pseudonym "Kyd". The 24" by 20" work (34 1/2" by 30 1/2"as framed) is in excellent condition. Painting probably dates to the 1970's or early 1980's. Rhinehardt's biographical information seems to be elusive. Nicely painted watercolor painting of dramatic alpine landscape, the location identified on the reverse in old Germanic handwriting that is somewhat difficult to decipher, though we can make out "Schoberspitze" and "Hohe Warte", placing this in Austria. The Schoberspitze reaches 2602 meters (8535 ft.) elevation. Comparison with a photograph of the mountain range shows a startling accuracy with the watercolor. The work is signed at lower right corner and dated there 1924 by artist HELMUTH SCHO...

Faintly visible on the reverse is painted "Guy Wiggins/Window View/ New York City". There is a history to the painting. The poetic scene includes one small structure at left; white and pink blossoms are starting to appear on the trees.. Oil on canvas unframed painting of two chairs and a glass-topped table on a peaceful terrace overlooking an extensive landscape, likely California, 16" by 20", unsigned. The regular size should make framing easy and inexpensive.

Oil on board painting of a waterside building with dirt road, small boat, fences and tree, extensive water in the distance, signed at lower left twice, with a signature that appears to be "M G Johnston". The work appears to be of a coastal New England view, which leads me to believe that it would be by the hand of listed artist MARY GRANT JOHNSTON of Massachusetts and New York, but I have no other works with which to compare it. Circa 1900 American pastel landscape drawing, 22 1/2" by 9 3/4" (29" by 15" framed), apparently unsigned, in the style of William Chandler and the pastel school of the period. The work is framed behind non-glare glass, which blurs the detail. Condition appears to be excellent. The vertical format would fit your hard-to-fit narrow wall. Oil on board painting of a Mediterranean-looking coastline, 6 1/2" by 10 1/4" (11 3/4" by 16" framed), unsigned, the luminous sunshine handled with considerable skill. This needs only a signature to propel it to stardom; it's really a shame that the artist did not affix his or her name. I suppose this could be Southern California but the buildings don't match up with any coastal locale that comes to mind. I believe the work could date to the 1920's or 1930's. This being a common Chinese name, it is difficult to tie this work to a particular artist, and there are no apparent auction records under this name.
