Offered together as a pair, two hand signed color offset prints of marine wildlife, each with signed ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR DRAWINGS in the margins, by the internationally known artist ROBERT WYLAND (born 1956). As a bonus, I am including a copy of his book "The Art of Wyland", 1992, which has been hand signed by the artist. The smaller print, (25" by 19 1/2"), of the whales, is titled "Saving Whales" at lower center margin, and is numbered 9/45 at lower left margin...

A rather elegant landscape painting with a modern feeling, the predominating colors subdued yet elegant grays and earth tones, signed rather illegibly with a European hand at lower right corner and dated there 53. The unframed work on canvas measures 23 1/2" by 31 1/2". Signature looks something like "Oltarini" or "Ott....." or "Ult....." but despite years of trying to figure this out I have not succeeded...

A poetic impressionist work circa late 1950's or early 1960's, featuring the famous, storied Moulin Rouge nightclub in the Montmartre district of Paris, signed at lower right "Fantin". The 20" by 15" painting (23" by 21" in frame) is quite atmospheric, the colors of the buildings, figures and cars standing out on this leaden, overcast winter day. The work measures 13 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the mat and 19 1/4" by 15" framed (no glass). The work is unsigned. There are some old watercolor stains at lower right which seem to blend into the imagery. There is some abrasion showing as whitish area trailing vertically down from mid-arm at right...

Beautifully executed pastel in subtle white, gray and tan, this is an image of Sacre Coeur and Montmartre in snow, signed at lower left by artist R. A. Badenhop. I am unable to locate an artist of this name, despite the obvious quality of the work, which measures 20" by 16 1/2" (27" by 23 1/2" framed). The empty streets, teeming with tourists and visitors on more pleasant summer days, make for an unusual sight in this famous and crowded section of Paris...

Aquatint on paper laid on board, 1924, "Le Village d'Herouville", 18 3/4 " by 24" inside the mat, and 26 1/4" by 31" framed, after an original by the famous and important French modern artist MAURICE de VLAMINCK (1876-1958), adopted for reproduction by equally noted artist Jacques Villon (11875-1963). Vlaminck is known as a Fauvist and later simply as an expressionist. At auctions, his works in oil bring from the low hundreds of thousands of dollars to the low millions...

A rare and powerful painting directly on a rather crude wood panel, unframed, 16 3/4" by 23 3/4", by the important twentieth century Peruvian artist ALICIA BUSTAMANTE VERNAL (1907-1968), featuring a group of native people climbing in the bleak mountain landscape, the forward group carrying a shrouded body for burial. The work is titled on the reverse "El Entierro" (The Interment/Burial"), and is dated there 1954, with additional notation "Ayacucho" (the Peruvian city)...

Etching on thin laid paper, 3 3/4" by 2 3/4" (14" by 11" in modern day frame), from the series "Beggars and other low life", by the noted early Dutch artist JAN GILLISZ VAN VLIET (1605-1668). A large unframed oil, 34" by 46", unsigned, a vintage mid-century work ***AFTER*** a DEAN CORNWELL (1892-1960) painting which was executed in 1953 for a New York Life Insurance Co. calendar, in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the incorporation of New York City.
