Vintage oil on canvas impressionist landscape with rounded low mountains, a country road passing red barns, 25" by 30" (29 1/2" by 34 1/2" framed), signed at lower right corner with what appears as "D Tutis" or "D Totis" or similar. Although the work resembles that of Vermont painter Earl A. Titus (1895-1962), the signature does not correspond with how he signed. So we have a mystery work here...

A good-sized watercolor (30 1/2" by 22 1/2", and 37 1/2" by 29 1/2" in present framing without glass), the subject New Mexico adobes in a late autumn landscape, the trees in flaming yellows, backed by surrounding mountains. In the foreground is a small body of water providing a deep blue color to set off the yellow. The work is signed at lower left "J. Van Sant". I have been unable to locate a known artist by this name...

This is an original oil on canvas painting of the Madonna and Child. It is in a gorgeous gilt wood frame. The artist was Austrian, Hans Zatzka (1886-1945) In signing the painting, he used one of his pseudonyms, H. Ballheim. The painting is dated 1886. It measures 42 1/2 inches by 37 1/2 inches.

A fine example of the renowned still life paintings produced by French artist ROBERT CHAILLOUX (1913-2006), measuring 13" by 16" (20" by 23" in gold frame). Miller/For Mother/1949/Lyme Rd., NH/Looking over into VT". Also, written in pencil on the canvasboard is "Mrs. Leon Miller/8B/pick up colors". So apparently this is a mid 1940's view from Western New Hampshire looking west over the Conn...

A PAIR of unframed oil on canvas works, one a scene of coastal cliffs and waves, 12" by 12", the other featuring a small lake or pond, 11" by 14" (both unframed). They are each signed by the artist, one M. Mahmoudi. I have not located information on the obviously talented artist, who is likely Californian; found in Los Angeles. Condition is excellent. What appear as white speckles in some images are reflections off the varnish and canvas weave.
