A double signed photogravure done by the son of Douglas Volk circa 1900 with a drawing of the Volk Life Mask of Lincoln and a drawing of the hand of Lincoln in the selvage. As a footnote, this work was presented by Douglas Volk to Daniel Chester French (1850-1931) as a gift on the occasion of the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial in 1922.
SIXTEEN black and white vintage photographs, circa 1930 to 1950, all pencil signed by noted mid century California photographer FRED WILLIAM CARTER (1897-1974). The photos are all mounted on card and each is pencil signed by the photographer; two are titled: one says "Santa Monica Bay" and the other "Odes of March/silver 1931". Subjects are mostly California landscapes, with trees, coast, mountains, and one still life...
A very interesting mixed media work, on a heavy, soft paper, with I believe pastel, perhaps oil pastel, and maybe even some oil, apparently sadly UNSIGNED, measuring 28 1/2" by 18". The number "5" appears at lower corners. On the backing is written "John Atkins was the first guy I (talked?) to" and "JAY Torrance/Garage (??) Period (??). I do not know what to make of that, if anything, but the names John Atkins and Jay Torrance do not connect with any recognized artist...

A lithograph poster in black, white and grays, olive green and light blue, 30 1/2" by 22" (39" by 31" as framed), the imagery by French artist YVES BRAYER (1907-1990), titled "Les Baux de Provence", the poster published circa 1970's or 1980's by the Provence tourism office. Brayer studied in 1924 at the Academy in Montparnasse and later at the Paris École des Beaux-Arts, under Lucien Simon. He exhibited around this time in the Salon d'Automne and in the Salon des Indépendants...
