A well executed watercolor and gouache on paper titled on the back, with an indecipherable monogram and the date in the lower left. Excellent color and good perspective it was probably done by a professional artist, if only I could read the monogram. London framers label on the back of the back board. Image 24 by 18 ¾ inches.

Condition; good, though the mat pulled a little of the color in the upper right. It is laid down on cardboard. SOLD

Original oil on panel by Jacques Koslowsky (Lithuanian, American, lived in Paris and Mallorca, 1904-1993) of a standing female nude, circa 1950-1960. Signed l.r. 24" by 12" painting alone, 28" by 16" in its frame. Koslowsky studied art in Florence and Paris. He had a studio in Montparnasse where he met the great School of Paris artists of the pre-war period. One of a number of works by this artist available in this web gallery.

Original oil painting on panel by Max Heimann (Germany, USA, born 1909). Circa 1940s. Probably painted in Shanghai where Heimann and his family were exiled during WWII. This painting is 17" square and is in excellent condition.

Original marble sculpture by Ruth Ingeborg Andris (Chicago, 1930-2014). 12" high including square wood base, 7" wide. Ruth Andris is known as a Chicago sculptor and artist. She studied at the AIC, at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, and with sculptor Cosmo Campoli. Her works in stone and bronze were exhibited at the AIC, the Ceres Gallery in New York, the Peace Museum, the Benjamin Galleries, etc.

This is one of three research notes that were numbered 23. This one is about Work 73-2, a Maki homage to a 19th-century Chinese writer. Dan Tretiak wrote: Enigma. The original eBay seller wrote this in his listing. He really got it right. Maki’s print has the four-character phrase as done by Deng in his writing in the 19th century We confirm Deng and Maki were in sync. The arrangement of Maki’s gold seal is more used in Chinese than Japanese. In any case ENJOY

It also bears the original Andrew Crispo Gallery label attached to the stretcher. 18" by 18", excluding original frame. In excellent original condition.

Contemporary scroll painting by Gary Llamido. Entitled "Black Water" this painting is inspired by the quality of line of paintings from the Yuan Dynasty, China. A beautifully painted miniature by Jeremiah Meyer. The sitter is a blue-eyed older woman wearing a lace cap, a white gown and scarf with a large ribbon at the neck, and a taupe shawl. The 15K gold case is another extraordinary work of art, blue foil backed glass, and the same on the reverse surrounding and centering an oval woven plait of hair.

Condition of the painting and case is superb, with no issues. Sight size is 2.4" by 1.8", while the case size is 4" by 2.8".

At times painting peaceful landscapes may not be enough and the painter must "exorcise" nightmares nocturnal or otherwise with the help of acrylic and brushes to produce a Fauve like non-painterly work...

Ca 1940 A vibrant watercolor framed under glass and signed Munir. The frame measures 12" x 16"; the picture, approximately 6-3/4" x 11". Not examined out of frame.

Egli was a Swiss artist taught by Ferdinand Hodler. After traveling from 1918 until 1925 through China and Japan, he visited Java and Bali. Mortimer Menpes, English, 1860-1938, "Interior of St Maclou, Rouen". This etching by Mortimer Menpes measures 12 3/8 x 6 3/8 inches, pencil signed, c. 1902, edition of 50, looking towards the Gothic Baldachin. Menpes attended the School of Art in London in 1878 and started exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1880. He became a major figure in the etching revival, producing more than seven hundred different etchings and drypoints, which he usually printed himself.
