Francoise Boucher Attr or School of : Cupids in Landscape: Pair 18th C French. This pair of oils on canvas is lovely in the quality of painting and the charming subject matter. Each panel is 28"w by 64"h. They had hinges on them as a standing screen but were later used as hanging panels. They are from a prominent french family who brought them to the USA.

This great original, watercolor painting is done by one of New Orleans' finest, well-known artist. It features a great adaptation of Bourbon Street in New Orleans, showing the New Orleans Jazz and the well-known jazz bar, "The Cats Meow." The artist is Donabeth Jones, known as "The Hungry Artist," from the Hungry Artist Studio. It is an original, signed and titled. It is framed and matted, measuring 19 1/2" x 16". It is dated '91 and is in excellent condition.

A Bronze Sculpture "Folded Needle" by Shim Moon Sup(b.1942): Korea, Korean. A Long solid bronze folded sculpture with a green painated and Some broze naive standing in the cylindrical Granite stone base, it's a very long and heavy sculpture by Moon Sup Shim, the ex-owner bought the sculpture directly at the Jin Gallery, Seoul, 1990s. It's in very fine condition without any damages at all. Measurents: 25.5" (65cm) overall. and 55cm x 5cm x 2.5cm bronze only.

Haku Maki started making embossed prints circa 1965. These in the main featured embossing that came out from the back to the front. However, I suddenly discovered that a number of prints in the 1976 - 1977 period were done with the embossing going into not out of the front This style or process does not seem to have hurt any aspect of Maki’s work nor benefited it...

A beautifully executed miniature portrait painting of a young gent, signed and dated "JH Kimberly Pinxt New York March 1844". It is in its original foliate cast case, measuring 2 3/4" by 2 5/16".

The miniature is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, bowing, paint loss, or restoration...

Felix Francois Georges Philibert Ziem, French, 1821-1911. This oil on wood panel, signed lower left,is a high quality and exquisitely painted example of Ziem's Venice scenes. It is 8.5" h by 6.5 w in a simple frame with outer dimensions of 11" h by 8" w. This piece is from a private collection and housed in a simple frame.

The kanji for Peach appears in the uppper right of the print. 17 of 24 Haku Maki was one of the grand masters of the Sosaku-hanga print movement. Maki Haku (1924-2000) is the artistic name of Maejima Tadaaki, who was born in Ibaraki Prefecture. Biography

Lacaze was a painter who was heavily influenced by Cubism and Post-Cubism, particularly by fellow Bordeaux painters such as André L’Hote. A superb miniature portrait painting by Giovanni Battista Gigola. The sitter, shown in 3/4 length, is a young man attired in a green coat with brass buttons, posed in front of a cloud filled blue sky. Unframed, and in superb condition, with no cracks, bowing, paint loss, or restoration. This fine example of Gigola's work measures 2 1/2" by 2".

From 1969 to 1974 Haku Maki produced about 15 Big Red prints and some Big Blue and Green. This one,Poem 71-52, was done in 1971. It depicts the kanji for Power. This striking image slices through the black background from top to bottom in a two-stroke movement. In the classic Maki mode, the core image is set off by a black sun at the left and a small blue moon under it; on the other side there is a yellow splash...

Dramatic kanji, sun and splash--this small print epitomizes the Maki style at its height. The kanji streaks across the print, now it is blue now it is black.There is a strong black sun and a sharp yellow plash--and the Maki seal. Yet it is not crowded. The Maki seal at the right is a roll, the Maki of his name.

Haku Maki was a well-known Japanese print maker of the second half of the 20th century. About 20 of his workw I called Big Red and a few Big Blue or Big Green. This is one of the rare Big Blue prints. By my reckoning he did about three true Big Blues, this is one of them. Until this true image appeared I only knew of a catalogue image which we enhanced into a nice blue here in Beijing. This is the Real Deal...
