Surrealist Nudes by Denereaux, Mixed Media Art, 40 x 30", Frame Size 43 x 33"

A contemporary painting in Old Master style, the subject a Dutch street scene with no less than eight figures, a church in the center background. The unframed 24" by 20" oil on canvas is signed at lower right corner "W. Caufield" (or "Canfield"). Note the attention to detail in the cobblestones and stone buildings (which are snow-dusted). The style derives from classic Dutch Old Masters and 19th century painters such as Cornelis Springer, Adrianus Eversen, and others. Condition is excellent...

A watercolor painting of unusual architecture (a white building with arch that looks almost Indian or Islamic) reflected on a wet pavement, two figures standing in center under that arch, 15" by 22 1/4", unframed (though it is matted, as found), signed at lower right by listed California artist ROBERT LANDRY (1921-1991). A late 20th century watercolor painting , 10 1/2" by 14 1/2" inside the mat, 14 1/2" by 18 1/2" in gold framing, the scene three figures in front of a walled house, the figures with loads carried on heads or in traditional pole baskets. There are two red chop marks at lower right. On the reverse is a rubber stamp of Suvida Frame, and Thai lettering. The poetic work is clean and highly decorative. Allow for reflections in a few images.

Watercolor painting of an elaborate Orthodox church on a rise above a lake in winter, a rowboat in the foreground, the work signed at lower right in Russian. On the reverse in ink is written the artist's full name, Sergei Nemirovski, and the date, 1998. Measuring 9 1/2" by 6 3/8" inside the mat (16 1/2" by 13 1/4" in simple wood frame), the piece is very clean and ready for the wall.

One of two works in my shop by apparently the same artist, (acquired at different times---the other JB01670): a watercolor on paper, 10 3/4" by 7 1/2" (17" by 14" in its simple green frame), signed illegibly (faint, at lower right), the subject a Spanish (most likely) church tower, the foreground dominated by impressive arches and columns. I have included three photos of the faint signature and leave it to the viewer to try to decipher it...

This is a beautiful impressionist still life of pink roses in a glass pitcher, signed at lower left in Cyrillic and dated 1994 by the noted Ukrainian artist VASILY PONIKAROV (1929-). Measuring 26" by 18 3/4" (33" by 26" as framed in pink metal frame and matching mat), it is a powerfully impressionistic work by a master of watercolor art. Ponikarov was born near Odessa and was exhibiting his art by 1965...

Chinese ink and color on paper painting of a Xinjiang minority girl herding camels by Liu Dawei (b. 1945). Dated in cycle years to 1999 and signed in black ink Dawei with one red Dawei seal of the artist. Mounted for framing with a cream-colored silk border. Painting: 27” x 26 1/8” (including silk border: 35” x 34 1/2"). Very good overall condition. During mounting, a few barely noticeable and well executed repairs were made to small losses in the paper primarily at the edges...

By the internationally acclaimed (male) artist Shirl Goedike (born 1923) is this impressive fine watercolor painting of a sun-washed large classic estate mansion, likely in southern France, (conceivably, in Southern California), signed at lower left by the artist and dated 1991. The piece measures 20 1/2" by 28 1/2" inside the mat and 28 1/4" by 35 1/2" as framed. I have not opened the backing to determine a title or firmly establish the geography of the subject...

**One of a number of works by the artist in my shop** This is a watercolor drawing....an outside possibility that it is a monotype (drawing made on glass or other surface, then pressed into paper, and therefore a unique work) by the noted 20th century French artist CHARLES LEVIER (1920-2003). Measurements are 18"by 13 3/4" (27" by 21 1/2" as framed). Condition is excellent with colors fresh and bright. Levier of course is a well known figure in twentieth century contemporary art...
