Jean Emile Laboureur 1887-1943 French This is an original engraving by French artist Jean Emile Laboureur. This engraving was created and printed in 1920. One of 6 pencil signed impressions prior to publication in L'Architectures in an edition of 500 unsigned impressions. The image measures 11 5/8X8 1/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower left. Very nicely framed with a linen matting. This is one of his largest images done in his distinctly cubist style.

This is a wood engraving print titled "Les Visages", by the important French artist GEORGES ROUAULT (1871-1958). The print measures 7" by 8 3/4" inside the mat (13 3/4" by 15 1/2" as framed). I believe that this is from the edition published at a later date (circa 1960's) by the Collectors' Guild of New York; the print is dated in the plate 1927, and signed in the plate at lower right. This color aquatint by Luigi Kasimir measures 17 3/4 x 15 inches, pencil signed, plated dated 1925, cat: Lorenz-5. Kasimir studied at the Vienna Academy of Art, although much of his etching technique was self taught and learned through working from nature. A finely carved, schist figure representing the goddess Hariti from the Gandharan Empire. she holds a cornucopia in her left hand and had a pomegranate in her right hand now missing as is her knee. wavy hair, as well as the sensitive modeling of Hariti's face demonstrates a classical influence.
