This unframed 20" by 24" oil on canvas landscape painting is something of a mystery. It is signed "J.V.C." and dated 1851 at lower left (see very close up photos), and on the wood stretcher on the reverse is incised "John V. Cornell New York". I believe there is an excellent possibility that this is a work by the historical New York painter John V. Cornell but I cannot prove it...

This is a rare original mezzotint by British artist, Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The title of this work is: "Harlech No II", it was created and printed in 1880. A combination of mezzotint, etching and drypoint, hand signed in pencil lower left border. This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 197. The image measures 8X11 3/4 inches. This is the V state of V.. This is a rarely seen image by Haden. Richly inked and printed.

This is a late 19th century painting, evidently one of many copies, by many artists, of the iconic 7' by 5' work by famous American artist Thomas Moran, which was completed in the year 1875. The painting is in compromised condition, with soiling, paint loss, punctures, and scrapes, but, I believe it worth restoring...
