A framed nicely worked crayon on paper drawing of roses (possibly, Alberta wild roses?), signed at lower right "M R 1944". The stiff wove paper sheet measures 15" by 11", and as framed (to the top of the arch), 22" by 17". The framing appears to be the 1940's original. I acquired the work locally here in Los Angeles some years back...

DESCRIPTION: Oil on canvas painting of a Mexican pueblo (or village) by artist R. M. Domez. The multi-story adobe structures with slanted roofs are seen in the escaping light of an approaching storm. Frame is carved wood and gilt; dating from the first half of the 20th C. and in excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: Sight: 23 1/2" wide (59.6 cm) x 18 3/4" high (47.6 cm). In the frame: 29" wide (73.7 cm) x 24 1/2" high (62.2).

There does not seem to be a listed artist name that would correspond, but the painting stands on its own. It is quite dirty so a cleaning and a fresh frame would be transformative. There is a diagonal crack to extreme upper left corner...

Watercolor on paper painting of a mid nineteenth century American house, 9 1/2" by 6 1/2" (17" by 13" framed), signed at lower right "Barney Moore" and dated there 1941. I do not see information on the artist but he was obviously talented. The house is of an architectural style that would have been common in the 1860's or 1870's, in many American neighborhoods east of the MIssissippi. Condition is excellent. Someone wrote "Moore 1946" on the reverse paper.

Oil on masonite portrait of a classic man of Bavaria with his traditional hat and shirt, 15 1/2" by 14" (23 1/2" by 21 1/2" framed), signed at upper left corner and dated 47 by the well listed German artist ANDREAS MITTERFELLER (1912-1972). The artist created traditional horizontal format landscape works which appear frequently at auction in Germany, but I see only a very few portraits or genre works in the records...
