We were fortunate to meet Tomasz in the early 1990's when he was nary as famous as he is now, and were doubly fortunate to subsequently acquire two of his early original works, both of which are now considered to be two of the best he has ever created...

By the well regarded Belgian artist JACQUES HOTE (1939-1986), this is a highly worked, detailed ink drawing on Japan tissue-type paper, measuring 8 1/2" by 11 1/4" (13 1/2" by 15 1/2" simply framed, no glass). The work is signed at lower right and dated there March 22,1969. The figures, caricatures, really, are quite strange, many with exaggerated Gallic noses; the subject/message of the drawing is not clear to me, but it likely lies in the realm of politics and satire and social commentary. ...
