A finely done miniature portrait painting on naturalk organic material, depicting an handsome gentleman wearing a black coat, white shirt and collar, with a stickpin.

The painting is in superb condition, with no problems or restoration. It is housed in its original case of cast foliate brass with the reverse having a glazed aperture. The case and glass are also in excellent condition, though the reverse has several unimportant dents.

Hans Bok, American, 1914-1964, "Lazy Afternoon". This c. 1940 lithograph by the American artist Hannes Bok measures 9 1/4 x 13 5/8 inches, pencil signed and titled. Found in Florida, a PAIR of watercolor on paper paintings, each signed "H. Crouse 50", one featuring a young dark-haired woman dancing animatedly in flamenco style dress, the other featuring a young man with sombrero and traditional shoulder cloth and sandals. The works measure 14 3/4" by 10 3/4" inside the existing mats, and 22" by 18" in thin gold strip framing. The subjects might be Mexican, or Central American, or Cuban...

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a good Thai repousse silver box with burlwood lining, depicting the Thai and Burmese kings in battle during the sixteenth century. Sourced directly from Chiang Mai Thailand in 1990, this is a substantial box of good quality silver. The exterior has been allowed to patinate for 20 years and has taken on the usual dark grey patina typical for sterling silver, but the interior is completely pristine as it has never actually been used...
