A pleasant watercolor painting of a working windmill in an extensive landscape, the sheet 9 3/4" by 13 1/4", currently loose under a mat, no frame, signed at lower left by listed English artist ALFRED WILLIAM RICH (1856-1921). Other than normal age toning of the paper, there are several spots of foxing, a missing extreme upper right corner, which is easily hidden by the mat, and reverse browning from residue of varnish or old adhesive...

This is a charcoal with white highlights fine original drawing of a male head on a plinth, the head appearing as would a Greek or Roman marble sculpture. This is a panoramic coastal scene, a common subject of the artist, who painted mostly scenes of Naples, Venice, the Amalfi coast, and Vesuvius. The painting is in excellent, fresh condition. Works by Battista are offered regularly at auction, where they can bring into the thousands.

An extremely well painted miniature portrait of a very handsome young man. The sitter is dressed in the traditional black coat and cravat, white shirt with a high stiff collar, and a stickpin. The portrait, on natural organic wafer, is housed in a 14K or higher gold case with a glazed rear aperture showing a lock of hair. Condition of the miniature and case are excellent, with no issues at all. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the locket size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8".

This is a very decorative painting of the California state flower, executed in late Victorian times or early 20th century when such paintings were all the vogue. This one has survived in excellent condition and would be perfect for a Mission, Arts and Crafts, or Southwest style interior. Frame has small losses.
