Pakistan - Afghanistan, Gandharan Empire, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A finely carved, schist figure representing the goddess Hariti from the Gandharan Empire. she holds a cornucopia in her left hand and had a pomegranate in her right hand now missing as is her knee. wavy hair, as well as the sensitive modeling of Hariti's face demonstrates a classical influence. Size: 7.25" h x 4" w no stand.

Contemporary Australian aboriginal art "dot" painting, acrylic on a thin canvas, signed on the reverse by artist POLLY PUNTJUNTA, and stamped with the Original Aboriginal Art Company stamp, of Adelaide, South Australia. The work measures 15" by 26 1/2" (23" by 34" in a wood frame with scratches). The past framer elected to place the reverse wire so as to hang this vertically, though I do not believe there is any particular reason to have done so. Janos Laszlo Aldor 1895-1944,Hungarian artist who traveled to France and Italy in the 1920s and 1930s. He mainly painted portraits of wealthy Hungarians and commissions he received. He died during service in World War II , Two Sisters is an oil on canvas measures 32x27 inches,Frame measures 36x33”

A small etching of one of the classic old buildings of America's oldest coastal cities, perhaps New Orleans or Charleston South Carolina, titled "Street Cart", numbered 91/150 and signed "Godzala" or similar. The etching measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" inside the mat and 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" in the silver metal frame. Condition is excellent. The piece likely dates to the 1990's through present. I do not see an obvious artist that would correspond with the name.

Oil on canvas, 20" by 26" (25 3/4" by 32" framed), possibly but not necessarily an Illinois subject, by an Illinois-born artist who went on to notoriety in California impressionist Plein Air painting, ARTHUR HILL GILBERT (1894-1970). This is a rather early (likely circa 1925) work. Gilbert was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois, graduating from the Evanston Academy in 1913 and then going on to two years at nearby Northwestern University...

A nice example of a miniature portrait, painted by Nathaniel Hancock on organic material. The sitter is a woman in a blue gown with a lace edged bodice. The gold case has chamfered glass on the front, and the reverse identifies the sitter as "Ridgely 1791."

The condition of this little gem is very fine, with no flaws to speak of. There was some minimal clean-up of a few painting drips in the background...

By Hungarian Artist Bela Szikiay, and dating to the 1930's, this fine etching measures 16" x 11", with a sight size of 11 3/4" x 8 1/4". It is affixed to a folded mat with backing, and is in good condition, with some minor foxing on the mat and one spot on the print, visible in the sky in the upper right area. It is signed in the print, as well being pencil signed in the margin, with artist's signature and title...

The imagery features stately, classic Monterey Cypress trees on the famous foggy coastline. Roudebush was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Sacramento as a youth...

Late 20th century. Paper size 17" x 12 3/8" (image: 15 7/8" x just under 11 1/4"). Full margins. Excellent condition. There is one small piece of tape at the top back margin edge.

Joseph Pennell, American, 1857-1926, "The Square". This 1920 etching by the American artist Joseph Pennell measures 9 3/4 x 7 7/8 inches, pencil signed, edition of probably 50 proofs, cat: Wuerth 740. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes...
