This appear to be most likely Korean art, perhaps by a Korean-American, considering the American size stretcher. The name is common in Korea but I don't believe the artist is well known. **One of a number of works by the artist in my shop** This is a watercolor drawing....an outside possibility that it is a monotype (drawing made on glass or other surface, then pressed into paper, and therefore a unique work) by the noted 20th century French artist CHARLES LEVIER (1920-2003). A superb miniature portrait, done en grisaille on organic substrate, by Samuel Andrews. The sitter is an attractive woman with an elaborate wig and hair style, and wearing a cap and gold earrings. The painting is wonderfully executed, and with such skill that there is a three dimensional effect. The photos do not at all due it justice.
