This is an old colorful Persian miniature painting on a panel featuring a courtship scenery depicting couples drinking and playing music mounted on a hand painted floral designed, all housed in a wooden frame covered with hand made geometric design. The scenery is very lively with choice of vibrant colors. The panel measures 9.5" x 7" and frame which itself is made of small fragments of bone is 14-5/8" x 12-1/4"...

Langenberg was probably one of the most widely traveled painters from the Düsseldorf School of Painting, who, after stints in Munich and Paris, also undertook very productive trips to North and South America. Etching on paper, 16 1/4" by 14 1/4", with narrow metal framing, pencil signed at lower right by artist, who, if I read correctly the Russian on the reverse, is one VLADIMIR KOSTROMIN. An old original label on reverse has a 1978 date, so I would imagine the print dates to the late 1970's. The ink is a greenish black. Moisture has compromised the margins and mold stained and rippled them; reframing would help exclude that...
