PAIR of framed Paris scenes on board, one showing Notre Dame and the Seine, the other a street scene with a 1930's car and figures, each signed "Montal" at lower right. I would guess these are tourist pieces in the Montmartre painters tradition, probably dating to the 1950's or so. At 13 1/2" by 7 1/2" framed they are identical in size, and they are framed identically as well, though there is wear to each frame, showing as gold areas against a darker background...

These are beautifully executed fine watercolors in excellent condition. I have found little information on the artist after an extensive online search. The name suggests a Belgian or French nationality, I would think, but I would not rule out another...

Detailed Indonesian painting in the classic style from the island of Bali, Indonesia, painted in tempera on cotton canvas laid on board, measuring 21 1/4" by 17". The painting is unusually well executed compared to many from this "school" of painting; the artist was of above average talent, though he or she did not sign the work.
