Set of THREE Italian circa 1946 paintings on canvas, in decorative gold matching frames, unsigned, each 9" by 11 1/4" as framed, the subject familiar scenes of Venice, executed in the classical eighteenth century style of Canaletto or Guardi. These works were commonly produced for the tourist trade by talented artists. This set evidently dates to the immediate post-war period, as one bears a date stamp on reverse, 3 Ottobre 1946 and a "Made in Italy" circular sticker...

Lovis Corinth, German, 1858-1925, "Munter Und Kind".A soft ground etching by German Expressionist artist Lovis Corinth, this image measures 12 1/2 x 9 3/8 inches, published in 1910 in an edition of 50 impressions, state I/III, cat: Schwarz-41, "LC" monogram in the upper left of the image, a faded signature below the image. Corinth began his career studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and went on to study under Bouguereau at the Academie Julian in Paris...

Watercolor on paper, 10 1/2" by 16 1/2" image size, (20 1/2" by 26 1/2" in attractive silvery modern-day framing), signed at lower left "P. Sandby 1793". The peaceful rural scene includes two cows, a haystack and at least three structures among the feathery trees. From images sent to major auction house specialists in London, the opinion has come back that this is very likely a work by someone of the period who copied Sandby's style...

Edmund Blampied 1886-1966 British This is an original etching by British artist Edmund Blampied. The title is: "The Vraic Season (No 1)" , it was created and printed in 1936 in an edition of 125 for the American College Society of Print Collectors. The image measures 12X14 1/4 inches. Very fine condition, hand signed in ink. Vraic is seaweed that was harvested on the Channel Islands and used for potato fields. The usual method was gathering it up with horse drawn carts...

From the 1964 Derriere Le Miroir #149, one of five original lithographs that appeared in that issue, with original center crease and reverse text in English and French, "Red Yellow Blue", by the famous Color Field and Hard-Edge modern artist ELLSWORTH KELLY (1923-2015). This print published in November 1964 by Maeght Editeur is in superb original condition, the colors rich and not light-struck. Measurements are 15" by 21 1/2" (21" by 28" in its present silver metal framing)...

Frank Benson, American, 1862-1951, "Flying Widgeon". A very fine sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 9 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches, published in 1924, cat: Ordeman-231, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began his sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known...

An interesting painting of a rather ruddy-faced gent, in a dark jacket with a striped yellow waistcoat, holding a book at the bottom center. The reverse of the case has blue and yellow striped fabric and a lock of hair, all under beveled glass which has worn reverse painted gilding. The gilded metal case is 2" by 1 7/8".

Oil on canvas luminous landscape of a peaceful Highlands lake ("loch") in late afternoon, 20" by 30" (27" by 37" as framed), signed at lower right by prolific Scottish and English artist FRANK E. JAMIESON (1834-1899). Jamieson painted a lot of paintings, and they are widely dispersed, and though not all are masterpieces, they are very satisfying and easy to live with, and a lot less expensive than those of masters like Alfred DeBreanski...

Charles F. Daubigny, French, 1817-1878, "Le Gue," Etching and drypoint, image size 9 7/8 x 13 3/8 inches, 1865, IV/V, Melot D.118, printed at bottom margin "Daubigny Sculp." l.l., "Sarazin imp. Paris" l.r. and titled "Le Gue" l.c., framed. This was Daubignys' third contribution to the "Societe des Aquafortistes", also exhibited at the Exposition Universelle", the world's fair of 1867.

NOT A PRINT, this is an original, hand-drawn sepia ink and watercolor on paper drawing, titled at lower center "Plumeria Tricolor". Further writing in a quaint nineteenth century hand reads "A tree 30 ft. high" and "Pint. Mono. (Montego Bay??) Jamaica x gardens of Peru x N.O. Apocyness"...

William Walcot 1874-1943 British This is a fine drypoint etching by British artist William Walcot. This image of the Brooklyn Bridge was done in his series of 5 etchings of New York City published in 1923 as a portfolio. This etching is hand signed in pencil in the lower border. The image measures 8 1/4X9 3/4 inches. Nicely Framed with archival materials.

This is a very fine etching with drypoint by French artist Edgar Chahine (1874-1947) The title of this work is: "Mademoiselle Delvair de la Comedie Francaise,", it was created and printed in 1901, pencil signed lower left border. The image measures 18X11 1/2 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper. This image appears in the Tabanelli catalog as image no. 73. It also appeared in the Holme's book, Modern Etching and Engraving, published 1902.

Joseph Pennell, American, 1857-1926, "Hudson Avenue Foundations," etching, image size 8 13/16 x 11 7/8 inches, Wuerth 807, printed on Arches wove paper, plate signed "JPennell 1923" pencil signed "J Pennell" l.c., private plate, etched for the Brooklyn Edison Co.

Fine early pencil drawing on wove paper, the subject a distant view of Windsor Castle and the Thames River (favorite subject of so many, many artists), signed at lower right "James M. Hart" and dated there 1855. This is a rather early work of JAMES MACDOUGAL HART (1828-1901) of later Hudson River School fame. Hart's major large scale landscape paintings have reached into six figures at auction, and sales in the tens of thousands are not unusual...

Zande, also called Azande, also spelled Asande, a people of Central Africa who speak a language of the Adamawa-Ubangi branch of the Niger-Congo language family. Extending across the Nile-Congo drainage divide, they live partly in South Sudan, partly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and partly in the Central African Republic...

This is a rare original mezzotint by British artist, Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The title of this work is: "Harlech No II", it was created and printed in 1880. A combination of mezzotint, etching and drypoint, hand signed in pencil lower left border. This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 197. The image measures 8X11 3/4 inches. This is the V state of V.. This is a rarely seen image by Haden. Richly inked and printed.
