Original impressionist oil painting on board attributed to Charles Rosen (American, 1878-1950). This painting measures 14" by 18", 19" by 23" in its period frame. It is not signed, but bears the inscription "Charles Rosen, Woodstock, NY" in the artist's handwriting on the back of the period frame. This painting was purchased from the estate of a long time collector of Woodstock artists (it had originally been purchased from a Woodstock gallery)...

The title is Spirit of New England, a scene from Kennebunk, Maine done in November of 1956. This image measures 9 1/8X17 13/16 inches. Printed in an edition of only 45 impressions. This image appears in the Stuckey catalog as image number 234. This interior was made from the Congregational Church , Kennebunk, Maine.

Oil on canvas painting of mountains and a beautiful lake, 20 1/2" by 26 1/2" (28" by 34 1/2" framed), signed at lower right by the listed Hungarian painter MARTON BARABAS (1893-1974). Barabas was born in Hungary and received his initial art training there, before moving on to Munich and Paris for further study. Eventually he established himself in Berlin for many years before moving to Los Angeles in 1958. In 1971 a book, "The Art of Marton Barabas de Markosfalva" was published in that city...
