Important Mogal Illuminated Sacred Epic Depicting Royalty on Elephants with beautiful script on either end

Beer Wagon etching by Harry Lewis Bailey. 8 x 12“. Frame Size 15x19". Harry Lewis Bailey was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1879. He studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts. He was an etcher who relocated to California where he was an illustrator and etcher. He became a member of the California Arts Club, the California Society of Etchers and the Printmakers Society.

Circa 1940 watercolor landscape painting, 11 1/4" by 15 1/4", 19" by 22 1/2" framed (no glass), signed at lower left by artist Edith Ovaitt. Edith appears to have been a talented amateur artist. An internet search reveals a woman by that name born in 1893 or 1898, living in Flint, Michigan at the time of the 1930 census. That Edith Ovaitt died in 1969. Ovaitt is apparently a fairly common name in that area. The watercolor's blue dominating color is very soothing and the work is clean...

Oil on panel, 9 1/4" by 12 1/2" (14 1/4" by 17 1/4" as framed), signed at lower left in red "Karla Mirabal", and inscribed on label on reverse, "Judge M. R. Mirabal Homestead in New Mexico" "Artist Karla King--So Calif and New Mexico--Artists of West--WHAA". This is probably of historical interest, depicting as it does an early home. The work is very impasto and impressionistic. The painting is a bit soiled but could be placed on the wall as is. Note the two young girls on the porch.

A small but impressive watercolor painting of silhouetted eucalyptus trees at sunset or dawn, 3" by 2 1/4" (11" by 10 1/2" framed), signed at lower left by the noted California artist ALBERT THOMAS DeROME (1885-1959). The work is tastefully framed with mat and is wall-ready. DeRome was born on California's Central Coast. He studied art at the Mark Hopkins Institute in San Francisco with Arthur Mathews, and Lorenzo Latimer, and took on commercial work (advertising and political cartoons)...

Watercolor on paper of a rugged seacoast with rocks and surf (presumably California, but could be a number of other places including England), 10" by 13" inside the flimsy makeshift mat (18" by 22 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "GAY", and bearing a bonus---a pretty study on the reverse side. I do not believe this to be by any of the noted artists who share that last name of "Gay". Nevertheless it is a nicely drawn work, in excellent condition. Allow for reflections...

Circa first third of the 20th century, or maybe earlier, very colorful watercolor on paper of a busy street scene in Napoli (Naples, southern Italy), 22 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed, signed at lower left by artist G. CANO. I count at least 10 figures in the composition, and one burro, complementing the hanging laundry, flowers, and ancient facades. This was likely a piece made for the tourist trade, by a talented artist. The colors are very intense and the condition excellent...

This print is of a Gothic style building in Princeton, New Jersey...

Oil on canvas painting of flowers, possibly asters, signed at lower right by 20th century listed English artist Leslie S. G. Harries. There is no date on the painting but a guess of 1950 would likely be close. The work measures 18 1/2" by 15 1/4" (21 1/2" by 18" framed). Condition is excellent with just a very small uneven/pressure mark area in the canvas to the right of the petal at right, and there are a few pinpoint losses in that area...
