A pretty circa 1950 still life on Masonite board, 18" by 24" (26 1/2" by 32 1/2" framed), the subject given on the reverse as "Red Camellia Bouquet", signed at lower right and again on the reverse by German-born artist JOHN WILLIAM ORTH (1889-1976). Orth was born in Bavaria and studied art in Europe before fleeing for the United States in 1923 for political reasons. For a time he was in Texas and later painted in California, and he is today most associated with those states...

Thomas Moran, American, 1837-1926, "The Half Dome- View From Moran Point". This beautifully etched image by Thomas Moran measures 11 5/8 x 8 inches, is plate signed and dated. Thomas Moran was a leading artist of the American etching revival, and in 1877 was one of the founders of the New York Etching Club. Moran was known for his experimentation in all aspects of the etching process, and his ability to beautifully capture the atmosphere and energy of the American landscape...

An oil on canvas laid on Masonite painting of a young brunette woman, the view from the breasts up, against a neutral dark background, signed in red illegibly at top left corner. The piece measures 17 1/2" by 12 3/4" (24 1/2" by 19 1/2" framed). More than likely the artist is French, judging from the overall style, signature, and the stenciled numbers "1208" on the frame. The artist is probably listed, but my efforts to decipher this signature have been unsuccessful...

Lieure catalog number 278, second state of two, excellent impression of this important print. In excellent condition, framed and glazed, not examined outside of frame. This is a later printing after the plate had the cancellation holes at the upper and lower ends of the plate. These holes were later filled in the 20th century and the etching was re-editioned, This state is less common. The image measures 5 7/16X415/16 inches. Unsigned as issued...

Robert Sargent Austin 1895-1973 English This is a finely detailed line engraving by British artist Robert Sargen Austin. The title is: "The Pack Bridge, Aylestone, Leicestershire". The image measures 4 13/16X4 7/16 inches. It was created and printed in 1926 and appears in the Dodgson catalog as image number 65. It was printed in an edition of 60.

A miniature painting of a lovely young woman attired in a double strand coral necklace and a blue gown with puffy sleeves and a pink flower at the waist sash. Excellent condition with no issues, and in a period black wood frame. Sight size is 3 1/2" by 2 7/8", and the framed size is 5 5/8" by 4 1/2".

NOTE: I have shown two full length photos as the background color varies somewhat depending on whether the painting is seen in natural, fluorescent, or incandescent lighting.

Stanley Anderson 1884-1966 British This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson. Hand signed in pencil lower border. This image appears in the R.A.A. catalog as image number 183.

This is an example of the large chromolithograph of the Grand Canyon, made after the famous painting by Thomas Moran, for the Santa Fe Railroad. The work measures 23 2/3" by 35" and the pleasing wood frame is 2 3/8" on a side. This example of this well-known print is offered in as-is condition, with most notably an approximately 1" across hole at lower left, and a number of areas of missing paper, showing in the images as white areas...

A colorful lithograph by the famous Spanish artist JOAN MIRO (1893-1983), pencil numbered at lower left 77/375 in European-looking writing with horizontal cross of the "7"s. On the backing is an old label of Jamin Editions of Van Nuys, California, who may have issued this print. Dimensions inside the mat are 25 1/2" by 19 1/2" (32 1/2" by 26 3/4" in brushed aluminum metal frame). The image was created for the 1970 Sala Pelaires exhibition, Palma de Mallorca...

Sir Francis Dodd, British (1874-1949), "Charles March Gere," This drypoint etching of the English landscape painter, Charles March Gere, c. 1927, measures 12 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower right margin. Francis Dodd was born in Wales and trained at the Glasgow School of Art winning the Haldane Scholarship in 1893 enabling him to travel and study in France, Italy and Spain. During WWI he became a portrait war artist producing more than 30 portraits of senior officers...

Painted in watercolor on organic material, with the sitter attired in a black coat, vest, and stock, and sporting a stickpin. In a wood frame with fragments on the back possibly indicating the artist and/or the sitter.

Very good condition with no chips, cracks, bowing, or restoration. Sight size is 2 1/4" by 1 13/16", and the framed size is 3 7/8" by 3 3/8".

Obra De Hans Suliman Grudzinski pencil signed lithograph titled .Sheet size: 21" x 31" pin holes at corners and handling creases, the image area is very good and framing would cover any flaws. Provenance: Estate of Peggy & David Rockefeller having stamp/label
