Oil on canvas laid against board painting of historic ancient structures apparently on a coastline, 11 1/2" by 9" (19" by 16" framed), signed at lower left in Hebrew script. There is a second painting on the reverse signed "Hausner" and dated 1979. A reader of Hebrew has confirmed that the signature in that language also reads "Hausner". The scene of buildings is almost expressionistic as opposed to impressionistic. There is a brooding darkness to the sky and a vigor to the brushstrokes...

Watercolor on paper extensive landscape with sheep lounging peacefully around a mature tree in full spring bloom, 13" by 26" (23" by 35" as framed), signed at lower right by noted American artist CARL PHILLIP WEBER (1850-1921). The subject matter is rather typical of the artist's work. Weber was from the Philadelphia area and often painted rural, bucolic local landscapes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sheep are often found in his compositions and this painting certainly includes them...

An American 19th century oil on canvas still life, circa 1870-1890, measuring 10" by 16" (12 1/2" by 18 1/2" as framed), unsigned, featuring a metal pot with green and red apples, a pitcher, and a glass, in the classic style of nineteenth century American still life art. I wish the artist had signed his or her work, as he or she was quite skilled. The painting has a patch on the reverse, approximately 3 1/2" by 2", corresponding to a repair in the red apple...

A late twentieth century abstract work meant to hang on the wall, the extreme dimensions 31" by 35", signed (incised) at left with what appears as (copyright symbol) and then "Bidenor" or "Ridenor" or even "Richards" or similar and dated there 1988, numbered 2 of 50 in Roman numerals. The "Memphis"-looking work is made of relatively heavy pressboard panels subsequently laminated with various surfaces, some dull/matte, one glossy like simulated marble, one like brushed aluminum or stainless steel...

19th Century American School 1800-1899 American Artists This is an original oil on tin painting of a young woman. It is apparently unsigned and so we are calling this 19th century American School. The painting measures 8X7 inches, it came to us in a period gilt frame which measures 12 1/2X11 1/2 inches. Expertly painted, this is a fine example of 19th century American portraiture.

A vintage, 1972 re-issue of the Maurits Cornelius Escher print "Metamorphose" (1939-40), possibly a posthumous or commemorative printing, as its date coincides with the year of Escher's death. The publisher is given at far right margin as G. W. Breughel, and this was printed in Holland. Measurements are an unusual 8 3/4" by 41" in the narrow black metal frame (presently no glass).
