John White (English, 1851-1933)

Known for his rustic genre paintings and landscapes, White attended the Royal Scottish Academy. By 1877, he moved to Devon and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, the Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street and the New Watercolor Society...

Rare set of handcolored engravings from 1888. Artist Proofs, all original. Hand SIgned by each Huntsman. In original black wooden frames with gold edging. Newly re-matted. Moderate foxing, but color is still so vibrant. Each measures 19" x 22" tall. These are original engravings, NOT REPROS. A Fine Vintage Painting by the Listed Colorado and California Artist, William A. Tracht (1860-?). This painting measures about 18" by 12", overall frame about 21" by 15". Signed lower left.

This is Maki's print 71-2, which tells us it was the second print that he created in 1971.

Ray Austin Crooke (Australian, b. 1922)

Ender's body of work is not especially large, with about 60 extant works known and documented...

Clark Marshall (American, 1862-1944)

A 19thC V. Loria Italy signed fishing boat watercolour. This Vincenzo Loria (Salerno, Italy 1849-1939) 23" x 12" unframed watercolour on (cardstock) board depicts a Neapolitan fishing boat on the water. An excellent painting for its play of light and detail, it is signed V. LORIA NAPOLI in the lower left corner...

Original acrylic on canvas by Herb Jackson (American, NC, born 1945). 30" by 22" canvas alone, 33 1/2" by 25 1/2" in its original gallery frame. This painting is signed, titled "Blue Gate" and dated 1987 verso. It also bears the original label from the Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte NC. Herb Jackson is a well-known American abstract Expressionist. He had over 150 solo exhibitions in the US and abroad, and his work is represented in over 100 museums.

A fine watercolor folksy miniature portrait painting. The sitter is a nice looking young gentleman dressed in a black coat, patterned white vest, white shirt with stud, and a black stock tie. Housed in its original red leather travel case.

Excellent condition, with no cracks, bowing, or other problems. The sight size is 2 5/8" by 2".

Signed original oil painting on stretched canvas of view of Casa Grande Vermejo Park Raton, NM. American South Western modernist approach. A few stays there have left a mental imprint, these many, many years later.

The third part of Note 10 looks at the prints Maki probably did in the 1969 to 1975 period but that, at the time of Dan Tretiak's writing this, had not yet come to light.

A beautifully executed oil on canvas painting by George Harland, a noted British artist. The scene depicts a man returning in a rowboat at dusk. It combines elements of luminism and impressionism, and was done when both of those styles were in fashion. Harland was a highly thought of painter and was exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1907.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no impainting or restoration...

William Aiken Walker (American, b. c.1838-1921)
