Etching on paper, 10 1/2" by 13" and a narrow simple wood frame, the subject three generations of women by a 19th century style hearth in which a pot is boiling, the print signed in pencil at lower right by the artist EDWILL FISHER. I have looked extensively online and have found some other examples of his art, all graphic art, the subject matter including European scenes of castles and cities, and the American subjects including scenes on the Ohio River...

"William Hogarth" Sigismonda The Works of William Hogarth" as published by Baldwin, Cradock and Joy in 1822 with the original plates restored by James Heath, engraver to His Majesty. The Heath edition was the last to print directly from Hogarth's original engraved plates. All William Hogarth prints appearing after this date are copies of these original graphic works of art. Heath edition 1822 An original copperplate engraving — over 195 years old. Sheet size: approx...

Poster of 1986, "EGE ART LINE TOUR", 27 1/2" by 19 3/4", unframed, hand signed in somewhat faded marker by the noted Danish modern artist, PER ARNOLDI (1941-). This offset poster is not in great condition, having been tightly rolled for a long time, and it is dusty and has some digs in the paper, and edge damage as shown (what appears as diagonal scratch at upper right is light reflecting in scratch on the Plexi)...

A charming little etching "Cape Ann Near Gloucester", so titled at bottom center, signed in the plate at lower right with the signature of listed American artist LOUIS KINNEY HARLOW (1850-1913). At lower left in smaller type is "Genuine Engraved Etching". The print likely dates to about the 1890's or 1900. Harlow was born in Massachusetts and became known as a prolific watercolorist in New England, producing coastals, landscapes, and images of familiar places...

This is a decorative, hand colored print, possibly dating to 1784, issued as a plate in "New and Complete British Traveller", titled at bottom "View of Hackney in Middlesex". Presently the print itself measures 6" by 6 3/4" (10 3/4" by 12 3/4" in simple black wood frame). I see from online research that this example seems to have been cut down, with all decorative border areas, and the name of the publisher, Alex Hogg, at the Kings Arms, No. 6 Paternoster Row, trimmed away...

Vintage poster, 27 1/2" by 19 3/4" in present metal frame, the subject a woman in profile holding flowers, doves in the composition as well, titled "This poster was presented to the Egyptian Delegation on the occasion of President Sadat's Peace Mission to Jerusalem November 1977", the artwork by IRENE AWRET (1921-2014) and her husband AZRIEL AWRET (1910-2010), both noted Holocaust survivor artists. Sadat of course, sadly, was assassinated in 1981. The print is published by Jerusalem Art Prints...
All Items : Fine Art : Paintings : Watercolor : Pre 1980 item #1423167 (stock #JB03481)
Watercolor painting of a mountain landscape in autumn, signed at lower left with what appears as "F. Renaud". A brook or stream occupies the right center. This is a nicely painted work, 4 5/8" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, 8 3/4" by 10 3/4" simply framed. The watercolor probably dates to the 1960's or 1970's. Photos were taken with the present cloudy non-glare glass removed. I suggest discarding it permanently in favor of regular glass. Ready to hang on the wall as-is, though.

A contemporary painting on canvas, unframed, 20" by 15 3/4", unframed, the theme seemingly an out-of-this-world painting of space and planets. Difficult to describe, but this sort of imagery is popular, similarsold along the Venice, California boardwalk and elsewhere by enterprising artists. Some of the white spatter seems to be sprayed on. Blue is the general color. Condition is excellent.

A contemporary painting in semi-abstract style, the image apparently of a horse and his flowing mane, staring at the viewer. The work is unsigned. Acrylic on canvas, 16" by 20" (a regular size, easily framed). A twist on equine art.

Circa 1950's oil on canvas of a mountain with cross on top, and what could be a small body of water in the foreground, painted in an impressionist hand. The scene could possibly be Mount Cristo Rey, a landmark with Christ cross on the summit, at the extreme southeast corner of New Mexico, overlooking the El Paso, Texas area. The work measures 16" by 18" and 21 1/2" by 24" framed. Sadly this became badly damaged at some point, with catastrophic tears through the composition...

The French fashion and costume magazine "La Mode Illustree" operated from about 1859 through at least the 1920's, featuring the styles of the day. This is a fine engraving, circa 1875 or 1880, judging from the fashion depicted. It is hand colored. Size as framed is 13 1/2" by 9 1/2". The framing though narrow is an interesting design. The print has some overall light browning/aging as would be expected of paper of this age---but it is even and not at all obtrusive...

This appears to be a print, with original hand coloring more than likely by the artist, the title "Good things come in small packages, big packages, or whatever shape a friend is in.", signed at lower right in the plate, by noted California contemporary artist SALLY HUSS (1940-). The work, 9 1/2" by 11 1/2" in robin's egg blue painted wood frame, is typical of the artist's output----always colorful in the extreme, and whimsical, the subjects landscape, florals, or fantasy. Her designs are often ...

[Note: Daniel Tretiak wrote this in 2012.] This work is now 5 years old. I set forth the main aspects of the works of Haku Maki, the main themes of his work, the main aspects of his style, and the broad range of his works. I think I did not realize in 2007 the range and versatility of his work, its drama and subtlety. Since this book was published I have written 9 research notes and many descriptions of key works. Amazon and Ren Brown Collection distribute this book. rbc4art@renbrown.co...
