One of dozens of drawings by this artist that I recently acquired, (ask to see others, not shown in my shop) this is a sketch in soft pencil on paper, the drawing, very simply framed just for protection purposes (no glass), measuring 15 1/2" by 19 1/2", signed at lower left, not dated but probably 1940's. The subject appears to be a European village with figures. The drawing is by California and Massachusetts listed artist DAISY MARGUERITE HUGHES (1882-1968)...

The signature on lower left is difficult to see. It comes from a fine collection in Miami and was purchased at Sothby's.
