Fine 18th c Engraving the text is faint so we haven't been able to get information on it. matted 14" by 18" NOTE the last 3 images were heavily altered to attempt to make the text legible.

Oil on canvas still life of red roses on a table with ceramic vessel, 17" by 39" as framed. The painting is executed in the Victorian style, but I think it probably dates to the final years of the 19th century or early years of the 20th. I cannot find a signature. There is a framer's stamp on the stretcher from Grand Rapids, Michigan, giving some hint as to its origin perhaps. Also the corner keys are of the post-1885 style. Circa 1870's watercolor, in Victorian or turn of the century gold frame, signed at lower left. Signed by an apparently little known artist, Carl H. Schmidt. The watercolor measures 9 1/2" by 13 1/4" (21" by 24 1/2" framed). The scenery portrayed is perhaps in the Northeast states. When I originally acquired this item, it was with a watercolor of Florida (copied from a Currier and Ives print), signed by the same artist. That piece, of the same age as this, was sold separately.

The bottom margin is titled, dated, numbered 30/100 and signed in pencil. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 9" x 24 5/8" (image: 6 11/16” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck and there are tiny brown spots about the size of the tip of a pin scattered throughout the paper.
