Antique watercolor painting of five rabbits in a grassy scene, feasting on several peaches, some reduced to just pits. The charming work measures 5 1/4" by 6 7/8" (and the old gold turn of the century frame is 11 1/4" by 13 1/4"). Frame is in above average condition for a frame of its type and period, with just one gold-painted area at left edge where there had been some loss of the design.

Oil on canvas painting by Haitian artist J.B. Gaston, 12 1/2" by 16", unframed, the subject a colorful tropical village among palms, numerous figures going about their regular activities. This work is squarely within the classic style of art we have come to expect from Haiti. It is not an old work but continues a tradition of Haitian art going back to the 1940's. Excellent condition. Will brighten any interior.

Watercolor and gouache painting of a ship or boat on roiling, stormy seas, circa 1970's, signed at lower left by artist "Andro", whose worn business card remains affixed to the backing. The work measures 23 1/2" x 17" and 25 1/2" by 19" as framed. The apparent zip code on the business card, 91203, I believe, is Glendale, California. The work is loose in the framing, slipping around. Frame is worn and will likely need to be replaced.

Pencil signed limited edition print, unframed, titled at bottom left margin "Minnesota Farm" and signed and dated at lower right by the by noted American WPA Regionalist artist ADOLF DEHN (1895-1968). This lithograph sheet measures 12 3/4" by 16 1/4". The artist printed 100 copies ("100 prints" at lower left margin in his hand in pencil). This one has been abused in its lifetime, but, who knows how many of the one hundred remain, and in what condition they might be found...

Gouache and pencil on paper, 16 3/4" by 12 1/2" (slightly larger as simply framed), signed at lower left by listed American artist JOHN EDWIN JACKSON (1876-1950). The scene is a genteel one, with a proper southern gentleman and belle, in a grand architectural setting. The artist was very prolific, illustrating many books and magazines in the first half of the twentieth century, yet, little seems to be known about him. A few pieces have been sold at illustration art auctions...

This is a **PAIR** of fine old works, (each 9" by 19 1/2", 17" by 27 1/2" as identically framed in old gilded oak), both coastal scenes, likely Rhode Island, including both steam and sail vessels on the horizon, tiny fisherman, and wood building at right in one. Oil on canvas laid on masonite still life painting of pink grapes and a vase, 25" by 30" (31 1/2" by 36 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right by artist G. ANSON WHITE. Strangely, I can find only minimal references to an artist by this name, despite the amazingly skillful and sensitive rendering of the clusters of grapes. In such cases I am often left to wonder if perhaps the artist was actually someone well known who chose to sign the work with a pen name for one reason or another...
