Nicely drawn watercolor and pencil work titled "The Entrance" on backing, signed at lower left by German-born contemporary artist and author "Renata Zerner", and dated 1972. The piece measures 17" by 11" and 20 1/4" by 17 1/4" in the period aluminum frame. The image is quite mysterious and dreamy, a male and a female torso standing on either side of a portal of sorts. This is an original etching by Reginald Marsh (American 1898-1954)of Minsky's Chorus, the famous Burlesque venue in New York City. The original painting of this scene is in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum. The original shows a reverse scene. The sheet size is 10 1/2" x 14 1/4", with the impressed image size of 8 7/8" x 11 3/4". The paper is heavy, textured, with a slight cream hue. One of a number of Whistler lithographs I am offering: "Portrait of Stephane Mallarme", 1892-93, measuring 3 1/2" by 2 3/4", mounted with hinges at top corners and in a protective sleeve. A label of Davidson Galleries, Seattle remains with the print. There are several condition issues. There is a jagged paper tear of about 1" at upper left, extending roughly down the level of his ear, though, well to the left of it, in the unprinted area...

Oil on canvas painting, unsigned, 24" by 12", in pinkish wood strip framing. The colors of the painting could be described as creamy light pink with some green. The work might have some age as it appears that "12-81" is written on the stretcher, possibly a date; and olden-days "$2.03" price is stamped on inside of the frame. There is a three-dimensional relief in places, where the artist spread the paint. No varnish, dull surface.
