This painting of Harbor Traffic is dated 1874. Possibly the work of Francis Silva. The painting measures 12X20 inches. We are calling this work 19th century American School. Oil on canvas landscape of an autumnal forest with small foreground lake or pond, a man in a boat, signed in red at lower right, difficult to decipher the signature, though the work bears an old export stamp and an old label from a Budapest, Hungary auction house. The painting measures 21" by 10 1/4" plus two inches of framing on a side including inner gold fillet and green velvet liner. The signature looks like "J Tietz" or something similar but that is just a guess...

Joseph Pennell 1857-1926 American This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Joseph Pennell. He traveled down to Panama in 1912 to record the building of the Canal. He created a series of lithographic images from that trip. This image is titled: Steam Shovel in the Cut at Bas Obispo , created and printed in 1912. The image measures 16 7/8X22 1/4 inches, printed on a Fabiano watermarked laid type paper. The overall sheet size is 25 1/2X20 1/2 inches.
