This is a very well-painted miniature depicting a courtly scene of a nobleman and his companion on a pleasure boat, with three female attendants. Although Mughal in style, I am not 100% convinced that the painting is indeed of the period. For that reason, I am listing it as decorative only and have priced it accordingly. Inscriptions frame the painting, which appears to be taken from a manuscript. The painted area is roughly 4" X 8" and is in excellent condition...

The painting is firmly signed in ink at lower right and dated 1905. This is, judging from auction records I see, **one of the largest works by this noted Belgian impressionist artist**. Outer was born in the part of Luxembourg closest to Belgium. He studied art in Louvain and Brussels, and in the atelier of Jean-Francois Portaels...

Watercolor on paper extensive landscape with sheep lounging peacefully around a mature tree in full spring bloom, 13" by 26" (23" by 35" as framed), signed at lower right by noted American artist CARL PHILLIP WEBER (1850-1921). The subject matter is rather typical of the artist's work. Weber was from the Philadelphia area and often painted rural, bucolic local landscapes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sheep are often found in his compositions and this painting certainly includes them...

A nicely done miniature portrait, on natural organic material, of an attractive young woman. The sitter is wearing a white dress, a black necklace and earrings, and an upswept hairdo. The painting is housed in its blue velvet travel case, with a glass cover.

Condition is excellent, with no problems. The sight size is 2" by 1 1/2", and the closed case size is 3" by 2 1/2".

Interesting painting of the Southwest, showing Native Americans at a nocturnal religious ceremony or festival such as Penitente, probably in New Mexico, many candles flickering in the scene also populated with processional crosses.
