Glenn (Glen) Cooper Henshaw (1880 - 1946) was active/lived in New York, Indiana, Maryland. Glenn Henshaw is known for Landscape, portrait and urban view painting. Glen Cooper Henshaw. Henshaw, born in Windfall, Indiana on 8 August 1880 (reportedly as Hinshaw), was a descendant of Francis Scott Key.

Description: Nicely painted portrait of a young matron wearing a gold locket and a white lace frock, presented in a rose gilt brass pendant frame. Size : 3" x 2 1/4", in very good condition.

The highly impressionistic American oil paintings of Anthony Thieme, noted Cape Ann, Massachusetts artist, are among the most sought after works in today's auction scene, some bringing prices well into the mid five figures or higher. Those works are typically scenes of Rockport, Gloucester, Florida and far=flung locations such as Italy and Central America. It is rather less known that Thieme in his earlier years worked in creating stage designs...

An extensive classical Italian Mediterranean landscape on paper, signed at lower right by artist CARL NACKE (1876-after 1931). Measuring 15 1/2" by 23 1/4", the work's colors are unusually fresh considering the age of the piece. The watercolor is unframed, laid on a board, as found in a Georgia estate. Nacke was an artist best known for his work on fine porcelains at German porcelain factories; these porcelains appear at auction in Europe.

This is a pretty, impressionist circa 1930's small landscape painting of trees and a path bordering water, painted on gray art board, measuring 9" by 12" (13 1/2" by 16" framed). There is no signature on the front but on the art board label is written in ink "Swick". This may or may not be the artist. The painting is so nicely executed, but its inherent beauty is dulled by decades of dirt. A professional cleaning will truly transform this one...

I take from online information: "The Buryat people are descended from various Siberian and Mongol peoples that inhabited the Lake Baikal Region including Kurykans, who are also the ancestors of the Siberian Turkic speaking Yakuts...

He was a painter of portraits, mythological and other figure subjects, genre and landscapes. He studied at St John's Wood School of Art and at the RA Schools. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1889 right up until his death in 1918.

"Notre Dame" seen from the former studio of Matisse by Rene Bernard,French 1906-2004 oil on canvas measuring 18” x 15"….Bernard was a French painter who studied and painted in his beloved country most of his life, briefly coming to the United States in the 1960sHe painted in the style of Maurice de Vlam ick, and André Derain, of whom he knew.

Watercolor on paper landscape, 10 1/2" by 7" inside the early-style gold mat, 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" as framed, signed in blue at lower right "J.A. HANCOX". No listings were found for this artist, but the work appears certainly to be of English origin. There is fairly heavy foxing especially at top in the sky, and a small bar of lighter paper there. It appears that the artist signed in lower right corner and then tried to rub it out there before re-signing it two inches higher up.
