A superb Walter Robertson miniature portrait painting done in watercolor on natural organic material. The stately blue-eyed gentleman is wearing a powdered wig, blue jacket with gold buttons, salmon vest, and a white stock. The case for this fine piece is 14K gold, and the reverse has, under glass, 4 sections of hair set at right angles to one another.

This painting measures 18"x36". Helen LaFrance is a self-taught, modern, contemporary artist who is 99 years of age. Her earliest known painting is a 12’x20’ mural inside of a local church that was made circa the late 40's and early 50’s and she continued to paint into the early 2000's. LaFrance’s work is represented in many notable public and private collections in this country and in Europe...

An original black ink drawing of a Native American Indian stalking a herd of bison. He hides behind a bush, his bow resting behind him, his fringed arrow quiver at the ready. The drawing is nearly square, at 9 1/2" by 9 1/4" (14 1/4" by 14 1/4" in black simple framing). There is a Reno, Nevada framer's label remaining on the backing, but no other information. I have been unable to match the name to a listed artist. Allow for reflections in a few images.

Large oil on canvas, 52 1/2" by 37", unframed, the name "SERGEI BORISOV" on the canvas overlap, the subject a scene of Cold War era Russia. There is much going on in the image, which is an idealized urban, industrial landscape. The Russian is difficult to translate (I have been helped by a friend who reads Russian), even to a Russian speaker/reader, but the gist of what is being said is that the proletariat and workers must prevail all together to work for the Communist ideal...

James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1834-1903 American This is a fine impression of the well known Whistler etching, Rotherhithe, It was created in 1860 as part of his Thames Set, published as a portfolio in 1871. The image measures 10 3/4X7 3/4 inches. Signed and dated in the plate, lower left. This impression was last sold by Frederick Keppel in New York City, the label came with this etching...

Gouache and watercolor on grayish tan paper, 7" by 9 1/2" inside the present mat (14 1/2" by 17" as framed), signed at lower left by listed French academy artist PIERRE FREDERIC LEHNERT (1811-?). This is a beautifully executed poetic drawing by an artist who showed at 19th century salons in Paris. From auction records it appears that studies of shepherds and sheep were a staple of the artist's production. Condition is excellent...

A work on canvas, 16" by 20", unframed/unsigned, featuring spatter drips in blue, red, yellow and a touch of green, on a white ground, in the style of famed modern American painter Sam Francis. I think the paint is likely acrylic. The work is a rather more affordable version, compared to the six or seven figure paintings by the master. Please notice the new photo which shows a stylistic monnogram on her collar. We believe this monnogram represents P J P. We will be doing more research on this monnogram. We are researching this exceptional 16th century portrait of Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-1567). This oil on panel measures 20" x 17". The frame label reads Mary Queen of Scots by Pieter Pourbus 1510-1584. The frame and panel appears to be original. If you need detail photos, please advise.

An oil on board painting of a harbor surrounded by old houses, 9 3/4" by 13 1/2" (13 3/4" by 17 3/4" framed), unsigned, circa 1950. The work is by a competent, trained artist and exhibits excellent impressionist technique. It seems to be of American origin as "Patent Pending" is stamped on the reverse of the board.
